    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

I have pm'd the folks who were helpful. I just wanted to make sure a few things were known. First, I'm a WOMAN, not a boy. Second, the story is sadly true. Who comes to a forum, spills their guts, then leaves? I suggest you re-read the thread. Maybe if someone comes out of genuine need then...

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

I didn't say I had a problem and then say I didn't. You misunderstood my problem, most likely because I was too wordy with my explanation, and possibly used too big of words. Nobody here would be calling me such horrible things if I had never mentioned my puppy's mom or that other situation. It...

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

I am apalled! Did you even READ this thread????? Clearly you know SO much being you've posted here a whopping THREE times. We allowed our dog to breed LONG before there was EVER any signs of aggressiveness. She was a bird dog. She liked birds. We had no idea she would go after the small dogs...

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

Thank you for that article. I actually already had it bookmarked, and it is wonderful information. I've hesitated to use it because although Sally does the "King of the Castle" type behavior, she has NEVER been aggressive toward any humans. Only with Spike, so I was primarily seeking solutions...

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

A dog like that?? like what??? I just told you she's not some killer dog. She isn't going after other dogs. She and Spike get in fights. Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned the other incident, as she was not part of it.

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

In answer to the question about what type of training we're doing: We began clicker training shortly before the whole situation with the neighbors' dogs happened. We kept at it and had her sitting before every meal and obeying for the most part, but *me* she still regarded as below her. I...

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

It is your right to have an opinion on these matters. I don't expect you to share my frame of reference. For me to be upset with you for tactfully stating your opinion on my situation would be like me chastizing you for not being a Christian (not that you aren't, just making a point). It's not...

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

Not to disagree with you, but I've been researching this since last November when the incident happened with the other dogs. All the canine behavioral experts that I have consulted (both in person and literature) hold the opinion that a dog that displays aggression prior to sexual maturity due...

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

My apologies...sometimes it's easy to 'read a tone into' text. We knew she was stubborn, but we thought by having a Boxer be the daddy, we'd get a happier, bouncier dog. She is that, but shows alot of her mom. Prey drive sounds accurate to me. But is it related to the fighting?

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

We exersize them daily, including socializing them. They're difficult, but we've been working with them on the leash for some time now, and in that area they're both showing improvement, though I sense that Sally (the bigger of the two) regards me as "below her". She respects my husband and...

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

She wasn't aggressive when we bred her. We thought her tussles with Daisy were just social order stuff. Believe me I did a TON of research trying to solve the problem once I realized what it was....or what I thought it was. She just liked to chase toys and little things like birds. I didn't...

    Two Dogs...big dilemma!

Hi all, I'm new here. I'm posting because I'm really up in arms and need someone to throw in some input. Here's a little background: Back in September or so of last year, our two female dogs (both mutts, both large, and both not spayed) were beginning to fight with one another. We had...
