    German Shepherd Vs. Doberman

So they can be pets but they aren't pets? What? That goes for ANY dog - not just working dogs. ANY dog needs to be in a home where the people know how to handle it. Sounds like he was neurotic! You weren't talking about Dobermans when you said that, though. :) You are very welcome!

    German Shepherd Vs. Doberman

A working dog can't be a pet??? So you admit they are neurotic? Dobermans are high energy dogs. And I think there is a difference between hyper and high strung? I can't help but think this is horrendously irresponsible and potentially very dangerous.

Is it time to stop free feeding?

Chihuahuas are a pretty diverse breed, especially with the amount of BYB specimens. To a Chi, a two pound weight difference is a much bigger "deal" than it is to an 80 pound Rottweiler. Chihuahuas adult sizes can range from under two pounds to over ten pounds (my mother is an owner of a ten...

    Stuck on what to do!*long*

If I were you I would stay where you are. If you don't want to do it, don't. It's unfair of her to expect you to uproot yourself and move in with her.

    fashion help for yoshi :)

I really love thick plain leather buckle collars. I think you mean like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v187/SkrapFox/Pippin/April152006026.jpg I love them and I think they look good on ANY dogs!

Does anybody have experience with metal collar buckles?

I've never personally used one on a dog but I have handled them before. I don't recall them being any heavier than a regular collar.

Is it safe to smoke next to your dog?

I think smokers are well aware of this fact. ;) I don't smoke, never will. I don't mind smokers, but I would throw anyone out of my house who had the gall to do it INSIDE my home. I think it's unfair, unnecessary, and borderline cruel to smoke cigarettes around animals. It's best if you smoke...

    Canon cameras

It sounds like you need to do a bit more research before dedicating to buying a new camera - SLR or point and shoot. I have a Digital Rebel XT, and I love it to itty bitty pieces, but most people trying to handle it have no idea what they're doing, and take the same quality of pictures as...

    German Shepherd Vs. Doberman

I have to disagree, for the most part. Not saying there ISN'T any high strung or neurotic Dobermans, but I've never met a Doberman with proper and consistent training that was high strung OR neurotic.

    Day Two of show..

How do you know what breeds of dogs I have or have not been around? You don't. Just because the dog is a certain breed does not make aggression like this acceptable, nor does it make twisting it's neck to correct it acceptable.

    Day Two of show..

If your dog is growling at judges he needs more training and socialization and may not have the best of temperaments (aka may not be breeding quality temperament). Also, twisting his neck is no way to deal with an aggression issue. Him growling is not at all a cute or laughable behavior, but...

    Maverick was SHOT! Gross pic

I agree with Doberkim, he shouldn't be out wandering loose. As you can see, it's extremely dangerous. Your dog can easily be injured or killed if outside loose and unsupervised. It's in his, and your, best interests to keep him inside. What if someone decided to take aim at his head/face?
