    Border Terriers?

I haven't been back to this forum in ages!! But, I was lurking (due to boredom) and thought I would comment. I own a 2 year old BT. Have been obsessed with the breed for years prior and reluctant to move forward due to not really wanting a super active, drivey terrier in the house. After...

    Best collars ever!

I guess strength is not an issue for me. I never, ever hook a lead to a collar...I don't trust any collars for that. My dogs never leave the house without a slip lead on, so collars are to hold tags only if mine wear them.

    Buddy advice please!

Have you dealt with a dog on cortisone before? It can be quite hard to deal with. I honestly don't know what's worse, the allergies or the panting, excessive thirst, excessive hunger and personality change from cortisone treatment. I absolutely can't stand the cortisone side effects, but then...

    What kind of mastiff?

He has a lot of bullmastiff qualities, but lacks pigment which would be present in most mastiff or bullmastiff mixes. I would say maybe even some Fila in there possibly which could explain the pigment...

    Went to the Dr. today

LOL! I had a TON of breastfeeding issues for about 3 weeks after my daughter was born. We had to take a hospital rental pump home with us and you are right about the suction. I won't go into detail, but let's just say DON'T let your husband work the controls when it's hooked to you:yikes:

Thanks for thinking of me guys. I won't be around much anymore, but lurk occasionally. I couldn't resist the breastfeeding thread today though...being the nursing nazi that I am.;) Hope everyone is well and thanks for your concern.

    Went to the Dr. today

It's also important to note that with pumping, not all women can get an effective let down reflex to take place with the pump. Without the proper let down, you won't get the hind milk in what you pumped out, so it's not always accurate compared to what the baby would actually pull from your...

    Went to the Dr. today

You are 100% correct. There are so many things that can go wrong when supplementing with formula is tossed around like it's no big deal, it is. Breeze, this isn't directed at you, or any of the Moms that for one reason or another had to go that route, but I am seriously tired of the so called...

    Went to the Dr. today

I also wanted to add that I have nursed my daughter for almost 2 years now and would be happy to be a support through PM if you ever have questions etc.

    Went to the Dr. today

Congrats on your precious little baby, Breeze. I just wanted to ask if you have visited with an actual lactation consultant? If not, and you really want to be successful at breastfeeding, I recommend you do. When I had my daughter, they were worried about her gaining weight and told me I...

Is it shallow to pick a dog based on colour?

Dekka do you have children? I don't think there is a parent on earth that doesn't find their child aesthetically pleasing, whether they actually are or not is a different story, lol;) I don't think it's realistic to compare dogs to children. I used to do that, until I had my daughter and...

Is it shallow to pick a dog based on colour?

I don't think it's shallow at all. At this point, I have no interest in black pugs. I think they are cute, but not for me. It's just what I am naturally attracted to...I like fawns. When someone picks a dog, they should be happy with ALL aspects of the dog. Temperament, color, size...

    Switching Foods... Questions?

I don't if you have a Costco in your area, but their Kirkland brand kibble is something to consider as well if money is an issue and the home cooking doesn't work out. I say this because it would probably be quite easy to convince your parents of it because it's cheaper than pedigree with much...
