Dog Not Motivted by Treats or Toys in Training

We think he's a Sheltie/German Shepherd mix. I love his different colorings on each side of his face. One side has white whiskers and the other has black! Corky-So right. He really does want to be with me. Ihartgonzo- I'll be buying chicken parts this weekend... Thanks so much all...

Dog Not Motivted by Treats or Toys in Training

Thanks so much for all of your help. We had a great day yesterday working on our own. I just felt like I had to spend the entire time at PetSmart worrying about the other dogs, who all had socialization issues. I didn't connect with Parker at all in class. As a swim instructor, I would let a...

Dog Not Motivted by Treats or Toys in Training

Also, I have cut him down to 1 cup a day for now, but Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Potato & Duck Formula 20-30 lbs. suggested serving is 1.5 to 2 cups.

Dog Not Motivted by Treats or Toys in Training

We went to one class. As a former swim instructor, I'm not one to usually give up after one class, but I couldn't get any firm ideas/options from the guy. When I taught, I offered lots of alternatives, then suggested private lessons, and when I knew that the environment wasn't conducive for the...

Dog Not Motivted by Treats or Toys in Training

Oh, and he kind of responds to praise...usually by jumping up one me. And, he is definitely overstimulated by the the other dogs. I think the instructor thought he could sell me on a social hour...already got my refund.

Dog Not Motivted by Treats or Toys in Training

He's a rescue...approx 1 yo Sheltie Mix, male...no info on him prior to shelter other than he was abandoned in a park...we've tried dry treats, semi-moist treats, organic treats, turkey hot dogs, chicken jerkey sticks...he'll like something one day, spit it out the next day, and then clean it...

Would you kick a dog attacking your dog?

Poor baby. Our first dog park visit was very civil, but they did have signs saying the call 911 for any misbehaving owners or dogs. Shame on that owner...

    Bully Stick & Pukey Dog

So, my dog loved his first bully stick. He chewed for about 15 minutes strait (a record for his attention span :)) and then he threw up. He has a very sensitive tummy. The vet says it's nerves since he is a rescue. I am very careful to feed him sensitive tummy food, and he gets pretty bland...

    Morning Throw Up

I will talk to his vet about Pepcid. He eats twice a day (Purina Pro Plan) and gets treats in the evening (People Crackers and soft chews). God love him, he doesn't like the fancy treats like Greenies or homemade Chicken treats:(

    Morning Throw Up

My new dog who I have only had for two weeks is a bit of a puker. He only does it in the middle of the night or early morning. He had had a crazy month (abandoned at park-adopted, back and forth between my place and my parents', neutering), so i think some of it is nerves or from his pain pills...

Thanks guys. He can jump a baby gate, but the balcony railing is pretty high. Thanks for the squirrel warning. He is fascinated by them:)

    Apartment Balcony Barrier

So, I discovered that my new addition can get his head and shoulders through the railings on my second floor condo balcony (I didn't give him a chance to get any further). I don't think he'd jump, but he gets really excited when he sees the downstairs neighbor's dog go out the front door. Is...
