    Red bumps on chest/legs

Funny, Mollie's been having the same things on her chest. Since all of us are having the same problem, I'm thinking it might be an allergy to a certain kind of seed that comes out in fall? I don't really know, but it sounds reasonable...

    The dog musing/vent thread

A rant I have... I hate it when I'm telling people about Mollie's raw diet and they say "So what does she eat every day?" I say the norm, "Well she has ground beef with liver and veggies and fish oil and sometimes an egg for breakfast, and she has chicken drumsticks for dinner, and sometimes...

    Happy 3rd Gotcha Day Heidi

Happy 3rd Gotcha Day!! (Obviously) she's enjoying living with you! *Heidi snores blissfully* :p So happy for you and for her! Happy Gotcha Day to you, happy gotcha day to you, happy gotcha day to Heidi... you get the point. And many more!

Will she be OK without her fish/liver?

Aw, thank you!! It's so nice to have some extra confirmation that we're doing the right thing. Most vets that we have seen don't advocate the raw diet at ALL, and so it's hard to get good advice on it.

Will she be OK without her fish/liver?

Thanks so much! We actually do make homemade food for her most of the time, but she had S&C because we were on vacation and didn't have time to make up her regular food ;) There's something in the Dandy Lamb that isn't quite agreeing with her, so we switched her back to her homemade beef as...

    Bad boarding facility :(

This week, we went on a vacation to the Adirondack mountains with our extended family. Sadly, they don't allow dogs, so we had to find Mollie a boarding place while we left. We didn't want to go with your average kennel (having had horrible experiences with it beforehand with a different...

    Mollie had a hurt eye

Thank you! Now her eye white is clear and not red anymore and she has stopped squinting. No more discharge either! :p

Will she be OK without her fish/liver?

Thank you both for your responses! Mollie now has been on organs again for a week (I was unable to post since we were on vacation ;) .) I was actually feeding her Stella & Chewy's premade patties (Lucky Mollie gets Dandy Lamb blend and Duck Duck Goose blend. LOL!!) and she seemed to do fine...

Is there anything I can do?

Have you tried talking to her about it? I know it would be kinda hard, but if you tried to explain to her gently and lovingly (that's the hard part rofl) that she's really not fit to breed dogs (but don't use those words!), she might change her behavior? Don't know how stubborn she is...

    Fish oil vs salmon oil

I just got this for Mollie. http://www.amazon.com/Iceland-Pure-Unscented-Pharmaceutical-Cats-Bottle/dp/B0017JGAB6/ref=sr_1_2?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1375316572&sr=1-2&keywords=salmon+oil+for+dogs It came with a pump and wasn't cheap, about $1 or more an ounce, but that's okay. I haven't...

Saying goodbye to a friend unexpectedly... had to put my dog to sleep at 4am

Oh no, I'm so, so sorry. :( that must be heartbreaking for you. I can't imagine all the pain you're going through. (((good vibes))) Seriously, don't beat yourself up over the head about it. I probably would have done the same thing. What a beautiful boy...run free at the bridge xxx.

    Mollie had a hurt eye

So yesterday, we noticed that Mollie's right eye was getting bloodshot, droopy-looking, pus-filled and full of discharge. She was also blinking as if she was in pain and pawing at the eye. We waited a day, but today we took her into the vet. Her eye was much improved by then, however. The...

    Hi from Mollie!

Hey there! It's Mollie Louise speaking here! (Otherwise known as Mollie Loo, Mollie, Mollie Flan, Miloo, Loozie, or just Loo :p) I am a 3-year-old yellow Lab...some of you already know me :D. My favorite part of the day is when we go to the Dog Park! Usually we go at 4:00 and stay until...

Moral Superiority of People Who Rescue

Oh wow. Just wow. Someone has very strong opinions. Honestly, I couldn't care less whether someone got a dog from a rescue or from a breeder. Either way, you are providing the dog with a great home that it might not have otherwise. (Who knows...maybe a dog at a breeder would otherwise...

What do you wish you'd named your dog? What did you almost choose?

Personally, I think the name Mollie suits Mollie to a T. :) My mom almost named her Milly Molly Mandy :lol-sign: gosh I'm so glad she didn't.

Shipping dogs and cats as cargo?

I don't know anything about cats, but about Bloo...how warm is it where you are? It it is over 85 degrees F, I would reconsider bringing Bloo cargo because it will get warm in the cargo hold between boarding and taking off, and again between landing and being taken off the plane (aka while the...

Will she be OK without her fish/liver?

Hi! I raw feed Mollie, and get most of her food from our local Commissary, which however is a good 45 minute drive away. We end up going there about once every 2 weeks or more often (which usually ends up happening in spite of the idealistic 'we'll only go once a month :p') Anyway, we went...

    Does your dog enjoy swimming?

Mollie has had a long road to learning how to swim. At first when we moved to the bayside when she was about 1 year old, she hated the water and would never get in it. We were exasperated. Labs are supposed to know how to swim - they're water dogs, they have webbed feet for pete's sake! But...

What's your preferred method of exercising your dog?

Hi! So, from these options: walks, runs, your dog running alongside a bike, dog parks, flirt pole, fetch (like in the backyard), or 'puppy playdates' with special friends, which is your preferred method of exercising your dog? (If your answer is one that I haven't mentioned, please excuse me...
