In need of SERIOUS crate help

Yes I doggy-proofed my bedroom, the room that contains the crate, (everything was up and out of the way...well I learned that even up and out of the way isn't enough sometimes - I've lost a lot of books and other items to his anxiety) and baby-gated him inside of it. That seemed to work for a...

In need of SERIOUS crate help

I had thought about the medication route - I didn't really want to take it if I had another option though...but it got worse today - when I got home (just a normal 9-5 day at work mind you I don't leave him inside his crate for exceptional amounts of time) Diez had pulled that wire clean off the...

In need of SERIOUS crate help

Hey everyone, This problem might have already been discussed but I can't find the thread so I am hoping someone will be willing to help me - Diesel has extreme separation anxiety and it has to stop, but nothing I have tried has worked (obviously or else I wouldn't be starting this thread)...

    Get rid of Diez?

Thanks everyone for your responses. I wanted to say quickly about the budget issue - I'm not one of those who spends money frivolously - in fact I've been making sacrifices to keep diez for his whole life. I'm 21 and I don't drink (because alcohol costs money I don't need to spend), I don't go...

    Get rid of Diez?

I've been looking into a cheaper food - where do they sell kirkland? The app fee won't be going anywhere I'm afraid, it's an apartment complex and they are very by-the-book people. I'm more worried than anything about him spending so much time alone because of my jobs and school etc.

    Get rid of Diez?

Costs are mostly the extra fee to have him in the apartment ($25 a month) plus food, I feed him natural balance and he is eating more than a bag a month (a bag is $50), so that's already edging dangerously close to $100 a month, plus all the little incidentals you don't consider each month -...

    Get rid of Diez?

I was hoping for some advice from you guys/gals - I have my puppy, Diesel, who I got while I was still with my ex. Since we broke up I've had to move into a smaller apartment, get a second job, started school, etc etc... Point being that I am worried that I am now going to have to get rid of...

    Ok weird issue with Diesel

He's getting the wet food in both the morning and the evening, and not a lot, just 1/4 of a cup so that he is tricked into eating all his food at once (and plus I've heard that the wet food has more nutrients in it anyway).

    Ok weird issue with Diesel

I could see that except it happens even if I am home all day with him. Yesterday we spent the whole day together and even went to the dog park and a walk so I don't think it is separation anxiety. But that is a good point, it might contribute to it on the days I do go to work.

    Ok weird issue with Diesel

So my issue is that when I take Diesel out in the morning and afternoon (right up until about 5:00pm) he has fine, healthy poops but after that they become really liquid-y/diarrhea-y. I can't commit to it being his food (I feed him natural balance) because it isn't constant but I don't know what...

    What's the Deal with Canidae?

I have been feeding him half as much as the nutro. It's still not as much as the "maximum" you can feed. Canidae recommends 2-4 cups a day and he's been getting around three cups. I'm thinking that wellness might be a good way to go.

    What's the Deal with Canidae?

Ok so I'm switching Diesel off of Canidae, it is giving him room-clearing gas! It's sooooo gross! So I'm now thinking about going the Wellness route because it is still not too expensive and available to buy at my local pet store. Any thoughts on that?

    My Puppy Harasses My Boyfriend

I'm very happy to inform that Diesel is making leaps and bounds towards being crate trained! We've been implementing the NILIF program and as such we have been allowing him on the bed without being "invited" up. If he jumps up of his own accord he gets told off and put down on the floor. He has...

    Advice about Parvo

Well I've had to change my plans for the most part - I will still have to go to the work event but will be leaving Diesel with my sister, who also has a puppy around Diesel's age. When he got his first shot he was absolutely fine, I was surprised because when my cat got her shots she laid on...

    My Puppy Harasses My Boyfriend

Haha yes I believe Disney has ruined my idea of raising a puppy. I try my hardest not to do anything to encourage him to think that the barking helps him escape his horrible prison of a crate. ;) I am in between jobs right now (a nice way of saying I moved and am still unemployed) so I am home...

    My Puppy Harasses My Boyfriend

He always barks incessantly when he's in his crate, day or night, wether I'm in the room or out of the house completely. When ever I walk into the room, or he hears me open the door to the house he stops barking - I think he knows he shouldn't be barking but does it anyway. I've tried just about...

    Advice about Parvo

Diesel is now 11 weeks, at 8 weeks he was 19lbs - he has a vet appointment on Thursday and I'm sure he's going to weigh a whole heck of a lot more. So while I like to think of myself as strong, no carrying him for that long would not be a fesible option for me. By the by my vet is the one...

    Advice about Parvo

Ok so I am just full of questions huh? :) I have an event to go to this weekend for work and I want to take Diesel with me but I am worried about taking him into public. He will be 11 weeks old and on Thursday he will be getting his second parvo shot (I would leave after the shot and he would be...

    My Puppy Harasses My Boyfriend

I've been trying to work on the crate with Diesel. It's hard for two reasons - first he cries ALLLLLLL night, not just occasionally, I mean this is the most determined dog evvvvver. He does however stop when I walk into the room (I've been trying to put him in there and leave the room for a few...

    What's the Deal with Canidae?

Thanks for the input Allie - I can never open the dog food analysis site - I don't know if it is a computer problem or what's going on but does it have good reviews for Canidae?
