    My Goldendoodle Apollo

Pics of my 9mos old Standard Goldendoodle, Apollo. He's already bigger than my 5 year old son by a long shot but such a sweetie :) I only recently joined this forum and don't have much time to post but everyone had such cute pics up I felt like a terrible mama! Thank goodness the sticky on...

PETA calls guide dogs users cruel

Strange timing - I work with someone who used to do medical research and he happened to mention PETA yesterday (and his intense dislike). I thought nothing more of it until I saw this post. What boggles my mind is that the spokeswoman completely insults the intelligence and capability of those...

Hi, Tim. I'm also really new but just had to comment because the pics are great and the sleeping bags....such a cool idea! :) Welcome!

Who taught my dog to bury a bone?

That's a riot! Maybe it keeps her paws from getting too dirty? :)

    Switch from crate to bed?

Thanks! Okay, I'm going to try. When I was a kid our dogs always slept on our bed or next to it. Just seems strange to have him in a "box". Appreciate the quick replies. Wish me luck :)

    Switch from crate to bed?

Apollo is just over 8 months and around 55 pounds. He's slept every night in his crate in our room since we brought him home about 5 months ago. He's rarely noisy in his crate, goes in easily and seems comfortable. The crate is tall enough, but I'm not sure it's wide enough for him to stretch...

Loose-leash walking - when to start?

I'm a little late to the party but since we just started working on this with our dog, this thread was of particular interest. We're using a trainer to help - really to train us more than the dog. Apollo is 8 months and catching on quickly but I do think we could have started much earlier...

    What is Harry?

I would also say sheepdog in there, too. We had a dog similar to this when I was growing up (his name was Chump - my dad picked it) and he was part sheepdog. Coat, build, and head are similar but the nose was very different. He looks like a sweetheart! Although I'm suddenly having a...

    Apollo at 3 months

Apollo and my five year old the day we brought Apollo home. When we looked at this pic recently, my husband and I nearly fell over when we realized how much he's grown!

    Goldendoodle Mom

Marketing, marketing, marketing I suppose. Well, he can be a mutt, won't matter to me. He's still my baby! :) Now going off to Google for more pony pics. I think those are a riot!

    Goldendoodle Mom

OMG, I just saw the pony cut! Had to repost, I'm laughing so hard!! I can't quite see doing that to Apollo (maybe Halloween?). And Island Dog, I don't want to keep him clipped but I'm thinking that because we're in Arizona I really should keep him a bit short in the summer but I'll let it...

    Goldendoodle Mom

Wow, thanks guys! Learning more and more....like I didn't know Goldendoodles were not a breed but a mix. I knew they couldn't be AKC registered but I keep seeing them referenced as a "designer breed" - which sounds stuffy to me, anyway. He's as far from stuffy as you could get (especially...

    Goldendoodle Mom

Hi to all - I have been looking for some info to help me with our 8 month old Goldendoodle and found this forum. Have found some interesting and useful info already. Any other Goldendoodle owners out there? I believe this is by far the smartest, sweetest dog we've ever owned!

Your Dogs Name: Why You Chose The Dog Name You Did

What a neat thread (hint, I'm new)! We just got a Goldendoodle a few months ago. He's now 8 months and we named him Apollo. My husband wanted a Greek name - not sure why - and he wanted it to mean something. We chose Apollo because he was the god of sun and light (we live in Arizona) and...
