Am I at fault? What should i do?

thanks again everyone. Tommy came out of surgery ok. This was the biggest hurdle. He is 10 years old, and losing that much blood in the beginning really took alot out of him, so they were kinda doubtful he'd come out of surgery. But somehow, he did. So we feel the biggest part is behind us...

Am I at fault? What should i do?

Oh yeah, all dogs are up to date on thier shots and healthy as they could be. $2700 was the total last night before they were going to take him into surgery, but the didn't end up going into surgery last night because his condition weakened. The thought was to wait to see if he gets any better...

Am I at fault? What should i do?

Hi, i haven't been on here in quite some time. But i've just had a terrible thing happen. My almost 3 year old weimeraner, Wrigley got in a fight last night with a friends Dachshund(Tommy). The dach's owner moved in with us for awhile because of personal reasons, and her dog and ours usually...

    Aggression towards 1 kid....

Thanks guys. Good info and i'll do my best to not let the situation get any worse. I"ll keep an eye on that kid. I had suspected maybe the kid had done something. We're gone all day and there are times when the kid is next door when we aren't. Although doubtful through the fence, since when...

    Aggression towards 1 kid....

Yep, of course, big Cub fans. We go to about 10-15 games a year. Its' a 3 hour drive, but, it's worth it. Bought XM just for the Cubs so i never miss a game. Although lately that wouldn't be a bad thing.... I hope it was just a one time thing. He had been barking at that kid for awhile...

You are not going golfing without me!

I know what you mean, i' have a weim. Does that kinda stuff all the time, he knows when i'm leaving. When he see's me putting my shoes on, he'll come and sit between my legs while i'm trying to tie them. I guess lots of dogs do that. Beautiful dog though. Wrigley's about the same size...

    Aggression towards 1 kid....

Wrigley, my 1 1/2 year old Weimaraner has never been aggressive whatsoever with any kid or child or person. He always barks at everything, but he's the biggest weeny and gets scared of everything. Like those little windmills in the yard, he'll run up to them all tough, then we he gets close...

    Advice about a stray...

My fiance found a stray last week. He's very old we've been told. He's a chow mix of some sort. We called all the shelters, no one would take him, especially since he's old, they were all full. We've notified the shelters about a found pet. And minus putting up signs in our neighborhood(i...

    Dog jumping up

What helped us, we have a Weimaraner, was lightly stepping on his back feet when they jump up, and say "off" while doing so. Not enough to really hurt him, just enough for him to be uncomfortable and know he doesn't like it. I was weary of it at first, because i don't want to hurt him at all...

    question about growling...

He get's his mind and body excercised on a daily basis. Like i said, just a month ago he finished his advanced obdience classes and i work on those almost daily. I don't really work on them, they're just part of the day with him. He's so good at learning stuff, all i have to do is lower my...

    question about growling...

Wrigley, my Weim (he's 15mo. old), has never, ever even thought of being aggressive towards anything. Although last night he growled at me and it's been bothering me ever since. It was late, around 10:30 or so. My fiance had already went to bed and he was laying on the bed with her. He does...

    heel

The reason i asked if she knew how to heel was, is because she has to know what and where it is first, before you can teach her anything else using the heel command. Here's how my trainer told me, but again, it was a series of commands leading up to the heel. first, Wrigley, my weimaraner...

    heel

First, you have to teach her where heel is. I just got finished with a really great obedience class with my Weimaraner. He did great and the exercises worked to a T. I haven't gotten the walking down yet because we dont' go walking too much in the cold. But when i do, he does well walking...

    have you ever...

Yep, twice. When i was 13, by my best friends Dalmation. It was a "pen" dog. They always kept it in it's pen. One day we were outside messin around and let her out. We did this all the time. I was playing with her and petting her for awhile. I was playing basketball, i went over to...

    Dogs attack Zoo

I guess they could be wild dogs. I've just never seen any before. You'd think, someone wouldhave noticed these wild dogs and they would have been taken care of. I just don't see how wild dogs can exist in a highly populated area. Maybe they can though? I"m definitely no expert. Yeah...

    Dogs attack Zoo

That's my town....... a more rough type neighborhood isn't too far away from the zoo. That's probably where they came from, but i wonder how they'll go about tracking the dogs' owner (s) down?

    What gender should I get?

Work's been really busy lately, so i haven't been on here in a while, but i figured i'd chime in. I have a male weim, but i do have some experience with both sexes. I've met 3 or 4 female weims, and a bunch of male weims. They all generally have the same temperment, but to me, and my...

    pawing and jumping up

My Weimaraner does the same thing. He's getting better at it. I'm really starting to pay attention to it though. The other day he jumped on our niece, a 2 year old, just playing, but he knocked her over and caused her to bump her head on the driveway. She was fine after a few minutes, but i...

    Those **** choke chains

I use a "choke" chain. But, it doesn't really choke him. He knows when it gets tight, he should be close. The leash, not the collar. I just use one because his regular collar slips right off his head so easily. I have a retractable leash and if he's away from me and turn a certain way it'll...
