How much do you spend on dinners out?

$60 base line for anything that isn't a chain restaurant (and I really hate chains...)

What dog breed do you plan on getting next?

Some kind of rescue mix I would presume. I hope to foster-to-adopt but first I've got to find an honest smaller rescue (with foster homes) that I actually like!

What is your timeline like for nextdog?

I'm a one dog at a time kinda gal, which makes nextdog planning simple and far enough way that I don't worry about it

What is your timeline like for nextdog?

I am a "one dog at a time" kinda gal. So since Merlin is going to live forever, most likely not for a long long while. perhaps there will be no next dog. Who knows!

Do you like to keep a specific "type" of dog?

A typical good dog. Likes all people, happy, tries to do good, settles down easily, go anywhere kind of happy dog that likes the beach and to chase tennis balls and play with kids.. the kind of dog that would be featured as a family dog on an ABC FAMILY TV show lol basically. Not the...

    Puppy: Boarding or in-house sitter?

In house but not MY house. I always use Rover. Merlin likes a home environment (even if it isn't his) much more than kennel/daycare kind of thing. Plus I like having one person and he is getting one on one attention (plus sometimes they have their own dog, which he enjoys)

Those that bring their dogs to restaurant patios.. What do you bring?

I don't really bring anything TBH The restaurant usually provides a water dish, I tie the leash to the table leg and that's it really. Chews might be handy. Summer patios are usually quite loud and busy so nobody would care but I guess it would depend on the place. BABY WIPES. Those...

Can a Border Collie thrive in an NYC apartment?

Merlin has spent basically his whole life living in studio apartments in BUSTLING cities, the truth is, they can live and thrive. BUT big but here.. 1) it takes the right dog OF that breed. I've met aussies that could never live in this small of a space or adapt to the busy life of a 23...

    BF/GF expenses 50/50 or?

We pay our own bills and split everything. Vacations that are couple vacations are planned together and split as well. I paid for his Taylor Swift ticket because...well... :rofl1: he sure as hell didn't want to go so I invited him

    "Easy" dog breeds

Cavaliers are my go to first time dog breed...short of some health issues (heart problems I believe) I've never met one that wasn't a fantastic sweet little companion dog. Most of the time, I suggest an honest rescue that utilizes foster homes, and a dog of any breed/mix that has some...

    Do your dogs provide security?

Nope. Nor would I expect/encourage him to do so. He was raised to be polite and friendly to people and has always excelled in that respect. I live in a safe building in a bustling city. He is allowed one bark when somebody is actually physically knocking at the door and THATS IT and even...

    Wedding etiquette question

If it says your husband/boyfriend/SOs name...then you bring them or you bring nobody. If you have a long term partner and that is specifically WHY you got a +1 and you were important enough to get an invite AND a guest even guest list cuts, budget etc.. their name would be on the invite...

    Extremists...

Not really. I am very pro-choice, feminist, equal rights, sex positive, science, environmental and typically liberal in most scenarios. with a heavy dose of JUST BE NICE TO PEOPLE OK I don't consider myself an extremist because with the exception of being kind to people and standing up...

Moving from small town to big city (or vice versa)

Cities. Forever and always. Went to College in Connecticut and while it was a lovely postcard with all the forrest and green...what a bore. Need something? Get in the car, drive 20 minutes, and EVERYTHING IS CLOSED. and unless I had kids I don't really get the suburbs.

What breed did you want as a kid?

Golden retriever. I was BEYOND obsessed, she was going to be named Angel and I would get her on christmas with a big red ribbon.

    What is your ideal pack?

In my perfect world I'd have one happy go-anywhere love everyone dog like Merlin (although perhaps with less energy) and a boyfriend with a dog that Merlin likes lol In reality, I got VERY lucky with Merlin aussie wise (lower energy level, so good with people, so willing to sleep/hang out...

    Puppy: Boarding or in-house sitter?

I've always personally done sitters and had great luck with Rover! /I would go with the random guy at home. BUT THATS ME/my dog would do better at home, even with little interaction with a human person as long as they are just around. than he would at a kennel environment I haven't been...

    Regular life dog brag

This may seem silly, especially with all the best laid plans and how little Merlin has done professional training wise (we haven't even passed his CGC yet...) but Merlin is just.. a good boy. We've moved to a new city, different coast, he comes to work EVERY DAY and hangs out with people and...

What dog breed do you think was better for you?

Like what breed overall might have been a better choice? Let's just say I got VERY lucky with Merlin. He has seamlessly found a niche into my very urban, sometimes very low-key/lazy life with coming to work everyday with loving all kinds of people and dogs and he has flourished in this...
