Saffie is having the time of her life

Yes, they do share similar traits. Phoebe looks great! I do see Border Collie in her, but no lab either. Trixie is a bit heavier, but she should be thinner then she is now. I think she is smaller too.

Saffie is having the time of her life

We don't know exactly. Her previous owners called her a 'farmers fox' (translated), which is a name for all kinds of long legged terriers originally used for keeping the farm free of vermin. Problem is she doesn't look like one, but then it isn't a recognized breed. In other words: just a mutt :D

What attracted you to Chazhound in the first place?

There are differences. Of course I don't know how representative dog owners from this forum are for all dog owners. I have a better view at that for Dutch dog communities. But overall from what I've read: We walk our dogs more times a day and more offleash. But that is because you have...

    Bit by my own dog?

A little more explanation to the reactions on this questions. I don't want to emply that it's particularly the right thing to do, I wasn't prepared for it, didn't expect it. And we were still getting to know each other at that time. Just going on brushing was the automatic reaction. I was...

    Bit by my own dog?

Yes, Boy bit me a couple of times. Boy had to be rehomed because he wasn't good with one of the (older) children in his previous home. He was bullied, and learned that biting helps if someone does something to him that he's scared of. He really has issues if you try to push him into a certain...

What attracted you to Chazhound in the first place?

I'm Dutch, and an active member of dutch dog communities. I was above all just curious about the differences between the US and the Netherlands/Europe. How do people here feel about spaying/neutering, raw feeding, behavioral issues? etc. And that's how I found Chaz.

    Archeology/history

That's very interesting. Not much viking influence where I live, but I have been on a university trip to Denmark, and saw such beautiful monuments there. Oh well, we had bog and ugly pottery (in the northern Netherlands) :rofl1: But the bog did provide for some interesting old corpses.

    Archeology/history

I love time-team! But I haven't seen it in ages, I don't think it's shown on a channel I can receive here in the Netherlands. I do remember one episode where they found viking-traces somewhere along the American coast, but I saw it a long time ago so I don't remember any details. I'm an...

Do you trust your dog with kids?

No I don't trust them. Boy was rehomed because he didn't do well with one of the children in his previous home, and snapped multiple times. Now that wasn't entirely his fault, he was provoked, but still a reason for me to never trust him with children. And Saffie, I don't think she will...

Do you like dogs with docked tails?

What excactly is the necessity of docking toy dog breeds like the petit brabancon? Why were some hunting breeds never docked, while it was necessary for other hunting breeds that did the same job? In the netherlands we have the stabyhoun, with a long flowing tail, but never originally...

Do you like dogs with docked tails?

No, there are leash laws in the cities and towns, but dogs may be offleash outside the builded area and we have offleash area's, mostly forests. I don't know about Canada, but I understood from this forum there is no such thing as offleash forests in the US, only doggyparks.

Do you like dogs with docked tails?

I guess it works that way with a lot of things. We can walk our dogs offleash and own any breed we want (since a couple of months), and no we can't hunt with our dogs. Only retrieving. But then I guess US and Canada have a lot more wildlife and bigger area's that are suitable for hunting then...
