What sports can poodles (standard) compete in without getting a clip like a show dog?

If your allergies can't take them then I suggest asking a neighbor.. Or finding a room you don't often use and let them stay there? How many are there?

I deffinately think that either a dobe or a standard poodle would be good for me.. I'm going to e-mail some breeders and do my research on temperment and such.. if anyone has any input about dobes or standard poodles I'd love to here.. I wanna make sure that the right dog comes in to my family.

Where are you in MA? I live in MA too.. theres a shelter in the next town over that I'm almost posotive will allow teens to volunteer.. I'm supposed to be volunteering soon actually so I can pass 10th grade=] it's called MSPCA at Nevins Farm.. They only have a phone number listed on the website...

I would love a dobe.. but my mom would never go for it.. We know someone who has one and he is a nasty dog.. she is kind of stereotypical.. I'll go look at Rhodesian Ridgebacks and I'll look at dobes see if I can show my mom otherwise.

Raise a german shepherd.. I think that getting a "goldendoodle" or any purposly crossed dog just promotes "designer dogs" and BYBs.

I know all about back yard breeders and puppymills and to never buy from pet stores.. my neighbor used to breed, show, and train dogs.. I've also done my research.. I'm just trying to look for the right breed that will go with my family.. As for christmas.. the only crazy day is the day after...
