My dog never had problems with rawhides but I ended up changing to Bully Sticks to be on the safe side after hearing the warnings about rawhide. I buy the Merrick Brand Bully sticks in bulk via Amazon.

I agree with the others, if I removed my puppy from crate and put him down to put leash on he would empty bladder seconds after feet touching ground. I just self taught myself to carry him directly from crate to the yard.
