    Holy freakin' crap!

 I was searching for some info and ran across a URL I hadn't seen in ages. Had to log in to use the search function and I've discovered some seriously familiar names! I used to read/post on Chazhound about 3 years ago! Anyway, back to searching threads for clipper recs. dk

HAppy hanksgiving to all the Canadian Chazzers!

ha. i have much more than that to be thankful for. i just didn't know the history of thanksgiving in canada [being an american]. but, now i have looked it up. it follows more of a european tradition of being thankful for a good harvest. and harvest comes earlier in canada than it does in the...

HAppy hanksgiving to all the Canadian Chazzers!

i am thankful that i don't have to celebrate american thanksgiving any more [yes, i am an american living in canada] - too many horrible familiy memories. it's also nice having a bigger break between thanksgiving and christmas, i have to say. *eating leftovers*

    small dog/huge puppy

any tips for getting a 14-16 pound dominant terrier adult and a 60+ pound boisterous rottie pup living in the same house peaceably? both have prior, positive dog experience. terrier had a large black lab at her previous home and has hung out with large dogs before but seems to be afraid that the...

how would you like to be put in a crate??? please educate me

ugh. as i type this, someone's dog is outside barking his head off repeatedly. over and over and over and over. mine? contently snoozing by my feet, saving her energy to jump up the instant i move to go tag along with whatever i am doing!

    Umm here's a thought...don't go?

frack. it's no wonder CD sales are going down...no fan could afford them! my kids'll get plenty of live music. as in MUSIC. and won't have to pay those prices...

how would you like to be put in a crate??? please educate me

i don't see any point crate-training an outside dog, unless you want it to travel safely and be used to it's travel crate. crate training is not cruel, and every crate trained dog i ever had LOVED it's crate. to them it was like a boy's treehouse with a "no girls allowed" sign on it. that...

Do you believe in spanking kids?

well, i will agree to disagree on the topic. i don't see the point arguing my standpoint in great detail. just don't call me abusive or violent if i parent slightly different. i'm hoping for kids that won't need it [if they have personalities at all like their parents, they probably won't...

Do you believe in spanking kids?

i don't equate proper, balanced spanking with violence. i've been spanked by one person, abused by another - and frankly, i sure as heck knew the difference! people can take ANY punishment to an abusive level, even withholding what the kid wants can turn into abuse if done incorrectly. if you...

Do you believe in spanking kids?

also, i think it depends on the child. my brother could withstand any number of privileges being taken away, he adapted far too well. it took a good swat to get his attention, nothing less. my sister, on the other hand, only took a stern look and she was in tears. i could also withstand having...

Do you believe in spanking kids?

i believe in spanking children, if necessary. and the countless unspanked children that have crossed my path continue to confirm this. and ive met many wonderful teens/adults who were spanked and have no emotional scarring from it. some have even said that without it, they would have gone wild...

    Feeding once a day?

if a dog's not hungry, i don't see the point in forcing the issue unless their weight is a danger. i've never seen a working dog not want it's food - but maybe dog's with less activity don't need to eat as much.
