    avoderm?

IMO, yes it is a good food. :) I just started feeding it to my Shih Tzu puppy to help with his coat. His coat got a little softer/shinier on Eagle Pack Holistic, but I think Avoderm is better for that.

    Help with breeding please

That's an excellent point and I wish more people would consider that before breeding their dog. It's especially bad with the larger dogs because even one litter can produce 15 puppies. Then if even one or two of those puppies grows up and has a litter and their puppies grow up to have puppies...

Eagle Pack doesn't make a grain free food and California Natural is not grain free either. ;)

    aunt feeds dog only hotdogs

Feeding hotdogs is no where near a balanced diet and I would definitely expect a dog fed only hot dogs to live a shorter life, have poorer quality health, etc. My guess is that the dog is picky so I'd recommend feeding canned food. It's probably the same price as feeding hotdogs. Here are a few...

    Any advice?-James wellbeloved

hedwig- I agree that rotating foods is important. I think the protein source is the most important thing to vary. Kase- I know, it's a real shame how few good food choices there are in the UK. The first time I tried to help someone find a good UK food I was SHOCKED at the poor food choices...

    Natural,herbal, flea/tick control?

Could you possibly post the recipe for your spritz? It sounds nice and simple, plus I'd like something I could spray on myself as well. :) To the OP- if you can afford it, Botanical Dog has a 4 step system that is the best I've seen. It's a little out of my price range right now at $49.99...

    Any advice?-James wellbeloved

There are actually some pretty big differences in the ingredients. I would definitely prefer the second one because it's grain free and also because carrot, tomato, and chicory root are very healthy. The only thing that's not great IMO is that 21% protein is a little low. That's actually the...

    food to gain weight?

Yes Poodles have a small build, but no most Poodles would NOT look like HKdog's if they were shaved to the skin. Also, there's a very big difference in his dog's weight and yours. Your dog has some padding and muscle mass. Using the chart lined below, your dog is probably a "5" which is "ideal"...

PICS. Just shaved my dog. is he too thin?

This is why I hate when people with no grooming experience get clippers in order to "save money" and groom their own dogs. They may be great pet owners, but they aren't groomers! Grooming is a skill and everyone makes mistakes even WITH guidance and experienced help. It's a horrible idea to just...

    what do you feed?

I'm currently feeding Eagle Pack Holistic kibble and Nature's Variety canned. I feel fine about both of those brands, but I'll be switching to Innova canned. Nature's Variety is just too expensive and I have to drive 20 minutes each way to get it.

    Small breeds?

How about a Japanese Chin or an English Toy Spaniel? They have some feathering, but they don't require much grooming. If you don't want a terrier then I don't think a Brussels Griffon is what you're looking for. This site might help a little: http://www.toybreeds.com/ToyBreeds.htm

    buying sick puppy-LINK to kennel

I totally agree. They also mention that the adults are clipped every 12 weeks... I didn't read anything about ANY brushing in between. My guess is the coats grow and get matted for 3 months and then get shaved down. :( Everything I've read tells me that they have an excuse for everything. The...

    buying sick puppy-LINK to kennel

So 3 dogs live in a maximum of 6 ft. by 12 ft. I'd say that's "okay" as long as the dogs are allowed to RUN in a large yard at least once a day, but I'm thinking that doesn't happen. I just loved their explanation for why they don't have pics of their adult dogs: That's just a big bunch...

    Place to buy Orijen-Online?

I thought it was weird too because I keep hearing about experiences like yours where they have excellent customer service. The two times I e-mailed them were several months apart, so it really makes no sense to me why I didn't get a response. I've decided to just stick with Eagle Pack Holistic. :)

    My easter day surprise

Congratulations! It sounds like he's a perfect fit for your family. :) Personally I prefer the boys because they're more predictable. Girls can be moody and usually affectionate only on their own terms. I think it's good too since you already have two girls; it seems like a boy is just what you...

    Which food for Pug?

CUTE!!! :) I think Innova puppy would be just fine for a Pug. But Innova makes a large breed adult formula and that's what I would feed the Saint Bernards. I think those formulas are especially important for giant breeds. Edited to add a link to the food...
