    Questions about why to breed

Ashlea, first off let me just say I'm not that up on posting on boards and I'm thinking that OP stands for original poster. If not everyone please disregard this post...:) I know it is very important to many people to preserve breeds of dogs. For some only the look matters for others function...

    Questions about why to breed

hmmmm, Maybe I am completly lost here but I think I have concided many points and said I was mistaken many times. Must I agree with everything? Debates like this do end up going no where for the most part but some times if people are willing to open up thire minds a bit and look at things from a...

    Questions about why to breed

Yep you did. I was just restating for RD Nope sure don't. This statement I think it gets to what bothers me most about this whole thing. It appears you do not even consider any connection to a dog other then for showing at a ring. I think this is a disconnect that will be hard to over come...

    Questions about why to breed

Ashlea I can tell you great bloodlines is not going to matter to a lot of people just for the fact of the bloodlines. With the dog I have now and my previous dog it doesn't matter to me one bit if anyone thinks they are exceptional examples of the breed, it's my dog and I like her better then...

    Questions about why to breed

The point I started out trying to make is that a dog dose not have to be a Show dog to be bred. I'll go back and reread my 1st post in a sec, but I think that is what came across. After reading replies to my post and turning things over in my head I still pretty much stand by this. I have...

    Questions about why to breed

heh, so reading my last post, I think I'm getting a bit off topic or a least away from what I was trying to get across. If I realy want to know about breeding show dogs that indepth I should go buy a book. So I am curious but not need to run a class here for me if you are not inclined to do so.

    Questions about why to breed

So let me state I do see what you are saying about how appearance and build relate to what dogs were original breed for but this don't mean the winner of the dog show would have been the best bear hunter. So let me ask you this. Is there any way that they test behavioral traits? like the lack of...

    Questions about why to breed

ohh well guess that is the end of that. thought we were having a good discussion but it seems you are just getting bent out of shape. You are right obvisly I can't read and as far as the bread- bred thing if you were making a joke could have been funny but I know you have no time for joking...

Tempura, 1. Sounds good to me.. almost... I was mistaken about how you guys feel about working/service dogs. The princess is cute part I'll get to in a min. 2.Ok here also sounds like once again I was mistaken only pure breads should be bread", sounds like this is just not the over all...

    Questions about why to breed

Thank you, was very hard on my wife. The over population you speak of will not change if the dog is bread for pups to run around a show ring or lay on feet at home. Imagine five show breeders with five dogs etc.. "I" wouldn't do anything cause I'm not making any babies. But for this example...

    Questions about why to breed

Let me give an example of breeding for a pet. When I married my wife she had a basset hound. We have been married for 9 years and lost the basset a few months ago. She was blind, deaf, incontinent, we probably keept her around too long but that is a diff thread. If there had been a way to get a...

    Questions about why to breed

So I found this forum when I was looking into what to feed my puppy and I received some help in that area and I thank you all for that. I then started reading some of the other threads and I'm really having issues with this whole "any one who dose not show dogs shouldn't be breeding" thing. 1st...

TimberWolf Organics Wild & Natural Canid Formula Dog Food

Ok, so from what I'm getting I don't want too much cacium or too much protein, correct? Due to the fact that I don't want her growing too fast because this will messup her joints? At this point she seems to be a bit behind in her growth, she is 10 weeks and 17.5 lbs as of her last VET visit...

TimberWolf Organics Wild & Natural Canid Formula Dog Food

I have just gotten A Bullmastiff puppy. She is currently 10 weeks old and the breeder had (and we have continued with) Sensible Choice Adult Lamb Meal & Rice. I'm thinking of switching to TimberWolf Organics Wild & Natural Canid Formula Dog Food. This stuff look ok? Any comments will be helpfull.
