You shouldn't tell her No, or bad. Once you come home it's far too late to correct or discipline. If you tell her bad or no, she is going to think that she is being punished for greeting you at the door.
I'm working on getting my dog through this right now also. He has terrible anxiety...
I know EXACTLY what you are going through. I have an 11 month old dobe right now. when he was around 5-8months I seriously felt so disconnected from him that if he wasn't so cute, I would hate him. He ruined so much of my stuff and no matter how much I worked with him he wouldn't remain...
I'de like to run the doberman WAE with my guy when he is old enough to. I've never done or witnessed one so I'm not totally sure what to expect. What should I work on with him to ensure he is as ready and prepared as possible?
I've heard he has to attack a guy at the end with a chew sleeve...
I take my dobe for a walk to this elementary school field everyday where we stay for about an hour to an hour and a half where we play with frisbee and bit and work casually out there until we get bored/tired/thirsty. Generally I do about 10-15 minutes of some sort of training before meals if...
I'm not complaining so much as just wondering if it's something I'm doing wrong with him or just his temperment. I definatly can't complain about having too nice of a dog. Especially with all this breed legislation crap going on.
Is there such a thing as a dog being too submissive?
Sometimes my dobe is just like too much of a sweetheart. I give him a brand new bone and my sisters little lhasa opsa can come up and and just take it away from him and then he just watches her chew it. I've never seen him do the "dobe...
I've always wondered if it was bad. My dobe loves having his head out the window when i roll it half way down for him. If we get going too fast for his liking, he just pulls his head in around 45 mph or so. Wind will start to blow in his nose and he will sneeze and get mad and pull his head in.
Sounds like a doberman would be good for you.
Super easy to train because they are so smart.
Big dog, intimidating but one of the most gentle dogs i've been around.
Very reserved and cautious around small kids and small dogs.
Sleek coat needs occasional brushing and shampooing maybe...
Those terrible hairs! Everywhere! I brush mine atleast once every few days and he still leaves them everywhere he goes. oh well, I guess atleast they aren't like white and over and inch long.
I really enjoy having my doberman and his dobe reputation but sometimes it's downright annoying how...
I don't know if it's an option for you but what I do with my dobermann is I walk him a few miles to this elementary school that has a huge field in the back and I let him run until he's tired out with a frisbee or tennis balls or whatever and then I walk him back. Knocks him out like a rock...
