    Got a new pup.

Hey, It sounds like you have a gorgeous lab puppy who is very responsive. It's great that you are getting him to pee outside, the only thing i would mention about parvo is when we got holly we asked our vet straight away if it would be safe to take her in the garden and he said no as we have a...

    new puppy crate questions

I would say yes leave some water and I always left a little bit of food for Holly as well along with a couple toys and raw hide for her to chew on. I would also agree that it's best to keep the crate in the same place as Holly sees it as her area if that makes sense?

    Home Alone, Crated or Free?

Holly is 6 months old and we started to trust her at 5 months. To be honest I think it depends on the puppy. We basically started leaving her for 15 minutes and then gradually built it up. It might be worth asking someone to check on the puppy whilst you are at work at first? But I think as long...

I'm so worried! She ate some carpet! Help!

hey, I wouldn't worry about her eating it, tbh Holly my 6 month old jack russell, has eaten so many things and i used to freak out a lot about it and worry. She has eaten some carpet before and she is fine, the fact that Zoe threw it up is a good sign as its not stuck in her tummy or anything...

Is it 5 months when they become a BRAT?

Maybe he is trying to test you now that he's a bit older. Holly is 5 months and she can be like this sometimes with the biting hand thing she knows its wrong but sometimes she just slips. It sounds like you've done really well with him so far and he sounds like a charming little fellow. The only...

    Mirror mirror on the wall...

So we took Holly to my grandads over the weekend and she noticed the full length mirror for the first time!!! It was oh so hilarious, she leapt onto the bed and sat there watching her reflection in the mirror, slowly moving her head and paw to try and work it out. After a few minutes of this she...

My Puppy keeps eating EVERYTHING outside!!!

With the lovely warmer weather we have been blessed with recently, Holly my 5month old jack russell has been spending lots of time in the garden playing with various toys and enjoying the sunshine. The problem is whenever she is not being constantly played with, she turns to grass and sticks and...

    Safety in the garden...

Hey, So now the weather is warming up, my jack russell puppy Holly is spending more time in the garden. Today I caught her really chewing a stick and there was a little bit of blood in her mouth which im assuming was from a sharp bit of stick. She seems fine now and there was hardly any blood...

    Because They Just Like Too.......

Awww bless!!! I laughed so much when I read that, I don't have the squeaky toy problem with Holly, but when kids are around her they feel the constant need to squeak the toy as they feel Holly likes it when in reality I'm convinced Holly despises it as much as I do!

    Hoover Dog

Holly is the same and I worry so much when we are out, especially as I can never be too sure of what she could pick up exactly!!!. The only thing that I find helps is to keep her entertained, keep her walking quickly or fetching something and when she does pick something up I tell her 'No'...

    Dog jealous of new cat?

Yeah it does sound like a jealousy issue. I'm not exactly sure of how you can combat it...does he get on well with ZhaZha? He probably just wants to make it known that it's his territory...

    Keeping dogs off the furniture?

We were going to keep Holly off of beds but we've managed to train her to sit next to the bed and wait until she is invited up or lifted when she wants to come up... she still climbs up of her own accord but I tell her 'no' and she tends to get down pretty quickly. It is hard as they are so...

    Multiple crates?

See how the pup acts. When I brought Holly home it was a 30 min drive and she stayed in a box...and when taking her out I used to put her in a carrier as she used to jump around a lot so for safety issues... But now ( 2 months later )she loves to sit on my lap and she hardly fidgets at all. so...
