I had a cat named Banjo growing up! For a registered name, i'd choose "Play Me Some Mountain Music" to go with the call name Banjo. Hmm, after re-reading your post I just now realized you were asking another group for name suggestions haha.

I'd probably look into an adult terrier mix or spaniel mix so there's no surprises on size and temperament. I also like Elrohwen's suggestion on MAS and again, would look for an adult that may already be accustomed to your lifestyle. Best of luck in your search!
