    Happy with this dog food

I did the EA for a while, then started having poopy problems last winter. I don't know what may have changed, but the problems cleared up and haven't come back since switching to Eagle Pack Power. Power has corn as the carb ingredient, but for many of my dogs, corn isn't evil.

    Puppy Elbows

I remember now - Britt was the name. I saw a pup from her (well 18 mo) at a clinic last year, plus another older male bred by the Henrys from different lines, and said to myself, "Wow, they breed my kinda dog!"

    Puppy Elbows

Who's the parents of your pup? I really, really really wanted a pup from that female David was running but she's with a different owner now. But when I heard about this, I couldn't resist. Go ahead and email me (my email should be on the BC Boards if it's not current here, but I think it is) and...

    Puppy Elbows

I've seen some elbows in a particular line that Sam goes back to on both sides. You can e-mail me privately if you want some specifics. There's no perfect lines - maybe someday we'll have genetic tests so we know exactly what we are dealing with on current bugaboos (including much worse ones...

    Puppy Elbows

I'm really careful with all my pups. I've had him since he was seven weeks and have always made sure he doesn't do anything to stress his joints.

    Puppy Elbows

How early can you get useful information from an x-ray on elbows. I've got a pup that I want to get this checked as early as possible because although he isn't allowed to do hard playing, I keep him from jumping, steps, etc - he IS a BC and plays pretty hard on his own and OCD (elbow displaysia)...

TOTW to Orijen for 8mo puppy

Orijen is a wonderful food. I'm using the regular puppy for my working BC pup. I've NEVER had a pup look this good and I've raised pups on raw and homecooked, too. Protein amounts have nothing to do with joint growth other than the fact that pups need protein to stay healthy and develop...

    Vitamin E Info Please

I did this with Zhi when I supplemented seperately and it worked fine. I actually did it every three days since she's only 8 pounds.

    Healthiest Breeds....

Working Border Collie. Although epilepsy, joint problems, and deafness are on the rise in North America as fewer dogs are truly "worked" honestly before breeding decisions are made.

    Fish oil help...

The therapeutic dose for a medium sized dog is 1100 mg of EPA+DHA. That's makes a HUGE difference between brands and products if you look at the serving size and then add up the EPA and DHA. You can have two different products that you are looking at. One is 1000 mg of fish oil per capsule...

    Breed guesses?

She's a Lynn Berger Cheese Puff! Wow, we need to see if the AKC will recognise this "breed" next! My Lynn at six months old: And last summer, almost full grown: Lynn's mix is known - she's half Golden Retriever, 1/4 Border Collie, and 1/4 Dutch Shepherd.

Kuckle, Marrow, Raw and Meaty, Oh my!

I'm surprised he's not interested in the raw lamb bone - mine love those. They are "consumables" here meaning they eat it bone and all. Recreational bones are the ones they don't eat most of the bone. For the most part, this is almost anything from a cow (well, steer), and bison or other...

    Interesting read on Va hounds

Unfortunately it happens regularly around here. Not where I'd like to see legislation enacted to stop it, but I do wish those who follow hounds would unanimously inherit the tradition of courtesy that goes along with the inherent independent spirit of the sport. When we lived off a quiet...
