I don't think it's "NORMAL", but some dogs are like that, but not everyday. My dog is a bit like yours.

Browny- He gets mouthful of food and goes away from the bowl and when he's done eating he goes back and brings some more food, like ur dog. and he barks at people who whistle :]

my dog had a bird, too.. We had to take it out of his mouth and throw it away.. IT WAS SO GROSSsssss
