    The dog musing/vent thread

I have a little toy poodle mix (with Shih tzu) and she's been one of the coolest, most intelligent dogs I've ever known. She was a therapy dog in an alzheimers unit for many years, has a few agility titles (and hopefully many more) is always up to play any game and is completely bombproof with...

    What do you drive?

I don't think you'd have any trouble fitting two Aussie size crates. The seats fold up and drop down to give you extra vertical room.

    What do you drive?

I drive a 2015 Honda Fit and it really has a shocking amount of space in there (With over 40 mpg, which is what drew me in). It wouldn't hold 3 dog crates, but could easily hold 2 with the seats down.

    Favorite Small Dog Collars

That para cord harness looks awesome!! I was looking for something lighter for the summer anyways, so ordering one for the munchkin dog.

    Favorite Small Dog Collars

I've got a tiny, and I just use harnesses. The collars just seem like a lot of pressure on small necks. I like puppia but they're a little warm for the summer, so i'm on the lookout for one too.

    Small Dogs?

I think it's very much an individual dog thing. my Lola is just about 7 pounds, but she's a pretty solid, sturdy dog. I've met dogs who are twice her size who feel more frail. She IS tiny though and somebody that wasn't used to her size would probably find it alarming.

    Small Dogs?

Most of it's just what everybody said- you have to be pretty cautious when letting them loose in areas where loose dogs can be. I do still go to the dog park on occasion, but we only go to the small side. I do take her to a daycare sometimes, but I would never in a million years use one that I...

What is your opinion of toy breeds and small dog breeds?

Mine is a very, very fun little dog. She's 7 lbs but can jump up on to most things. she can keep up hiking. She's a therapy dog every other weekend in an alzheimers unit. We can play around with agility and trick training. She's not brilliant at anything, but SO confident and willing to do...

    Boston/Maine road trip with kids?

If you're in Falmouth, the knob in Woods Hole is a really cool/very short little hike with an amazing view at the end. It's got a couple of nice little beaches that are pretty fun for kids because there are a ton of tiny crabs and oysters and stuff scurrying around. If you've got bikes, the...

    Dogs in public places

My area is pretty dog friendly- outdoor patios are usually fine with dogs. , Bass Pro Shops, Tractor Supply, hardware stores are fine. Beaches can be tricky from May-September, but you can find an empty beach if you know the right places.

Breeds that aren't your cup of tea.

I don't think I'd rule out any breed entirely. I have definite preferences, but I can live with a pretty wide range of temperaments. As long as they don't want to eat Lola we're pretty good.
