How often is too often? Bathing Wire Coated Dog

Thank you everyone for the great advice and words of wisdom. Tara and I have been in Florida now for six months or so. She's become super fond of the dog parks. I tried to get her excited about the beach but she just gets irritable. We have discovered that I can safely bathe her after each of...

    On the Topic of Frenchies....

I have friends in Germany with frenchies and they used to play so well with my crazy pbgv pup when I lived there. Very sweet dogs with people and animals. I would get one in a heart beat if I didn't live in such a warm climate...

    where do your dogs sleep?

My little Tara, sleeps in her crate. I would love her to be able to sleep with me in bed, but she has this idea that the bed needs to be peed on. Thankfully i anticipated that (i had a cat that thought the same many years and Many mattresses ago) and had waterproof covers on the mattress (so...

    Dog Food Overseas

Italy will have Acana and Orijen. I was living in europe for two years (just moved to florida 2.5 weeks ago!) and I could easily get those brands in the better stores there. You'll be able to ask store clerks for the better brands/ to try to translate the bags at the stores too. Stay respectful...

How often is too often? Bathing Wire Coated Dog

I will certainly look for something like this. Thanks! Dekka- Tara still has a lot of puppy hair so her coat isn't as rough as the breed standard wants yet. She's not dirty looking at all, she just is smelling....a little un-fresh LOL. Not super bad like a neglected lab but not as delicious...

How often is too often? Bathing Wire Coated Dog

Hi everyone. My Petite Basset Griffon Vendeen (PBGV) has started to get stinky from frolicking in fields during our walks. I bathed her about two weeks ago and have heard that you shouldn't bathe rough/wire coated dogs very often. She's only 6 months so she has a bit of softer puppy hair still...

    Grieving pet mom

Stlulo59, I would be as devastated as you. Seek another opinion. At very least, when you have tried a different doctor, you will know you have/are doing the right thing by your Best Friend. You both will be in my thoughts and prayers for the best outcome possible. Good Health Vibes are sent your...

    Barbet?

Having an obscure French breed of dog, I completely understand why they give them a term/name like French Water Dog instead of Barbet. It makes it easier to explain them. Would you know what a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen is? LOL but when I say "I have a French hunting Hound." People understand...

    Question about heritage/ethnicity

I agree with that. Having lived in Europe I realize that although I have french reletives, German relatives and other European relatives, I am American. I am of German and French decent, but I am all American. The cultures you are raised in really affect who you are.

    Bad news for Ma'ii....

Wow I'm sending lots of good health vibes his way. Its sounds a lot like Ankylosing Spondylitis that occurs in humans. Poor doggie. ~_~,
