A lot of people wandered off to Facebook; those who stayed got maybe one or two replies to posts, and eventually gave up. Once in a while, people wander back and try to re-ignite the forum, but then they disappear in a day as well. And come back a month later and wonder what happened again...

I taught it with a rear foot target. Luring him off it, then rewarding him when he would reach back with a hind foot to find the target again. Then just gradually increased how far I asked him to back to it, and added a cue.

Yup, most of the doodles here are pretty decent dogs as well. Our neighbors had one that was barky when it was young, but otherwise was a really lovely dog.

Very interesting. I have close to zero experience with gaited horses, but I'm intrigued by them. There are quite a few Icelandics in our area, but not much else that I've seen. It will be fun to see how she grows up!

Yeah, I really don't see the ACD in him, either physically or with regards to temperament. I know the owner of his littermate said she could see ACD as a possibility; I think she has a bit of a sharper temperament, and she's built fairly differently. Maybe those genes just passed over Gusto...

For anyone who has been waiting around with baited breath.... Not the craziest I've seen, for sure. I'd probably swap out the ACD for more BC and maybe one of the Amstaffs for a smaller terrier, but I certainly wouldn't rule any of those 3 breeds out completely as part of the mix...
