Hi Irish. My dog was just recently (this month actually...it seems like a lot of dogs here are having the same problem?) "diagnosed" with canine epilepsy. He too has to take medication- but he is taking Potassium Bromide. Phenobarbital is very harsh on the liver and, if used for a long time...

that's so weird because that exact thing happened to my dog earlier tonight. it happens once in a blue moon..he was just at the vet earlier today, too.

Wow, I haven't come to this forum in a long time. My dog Boo had his first seizure (grand mal) sometime in early January of this year and it was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. We took him to the vet shortly after and they checked everything from blood to the thryoid 6...

I had a very enjoyable day :) Today was the 2nd anniversary of when we first got Boo (hence the name ;) ).

"Try the "No" command and when he turns and steps away from the "goodie" give him a little treat." That is exactly what I was thinking of doing. Thanks Renee :)

Ok... my two year old Cairn has a bit of a problem. Whenever he can get a chance, he will eat my other dog's feces. She (my other dog) goes #2 on the side yard because we can't always walk her..and if we let our Cairn out before we clean it up, he will try to eat it. We almost always clean...

Update: Just lettin ya all know that Boo has lost 3 lbs. in 3 weeks since I started splitting his food up and exercising him more. I'm very happy that I'm seeing results...there also hasn't been any vomitting since my first post so I'm happy about that too- but I'm still going to change his...

I'd say take that baby to the vet ASAP... the blood in her stool cant be too good of a sign =\

Sometimes it's food or grass, other times its bile. Do you recommend Calfornia Natural? I'd really like to try the BARF diet for both of my dogs but I don't exactly have a lot of time on my hands & it seems to be somewhat overwhelming/time consuming. I want to do what's best for them...

I was surprised too, but I trusted him. I'm seriously considering finding a new vet. We feed him Nutro for sensitive stomachs.. thank you for your suggestions, I've been doing some research on the BARF diet for a while but I think I'll go ahead and try that. I'll keep you posted.
