i had a pet or two through the years coming to us at about this stage. They had to be released of course. I love their little fledling faces, it is just a heartbreak that this is such a dangerous time for them. Very nice photo, i hope his mama kept him safe.
His Mama was most vigilant! She wasn't far off when I took the photos, and I was the only creature allowed anywhere near that side of the porch or yard . . . she was grateful for all the peanut butter and seed sandwiches
