OMG OMG OMG... I'm waiting for Brendan to get here. I think Im going to call animal services. I just saw one of my neighbors beating their dog up. OMG OMG!!!!

Bamm was out on the balcony and he started barking at another dog. It was a cute little pit pup. That dog started barking back and the guy grabbed his dog and started punching it and then kicked the poor thing. The puppy was screaming. My jaw is still dropped. OMG... I'm not going to sit back and let that guy get away with that.

Oh god, Amber... that's terrible.. do you have their number? I'd call RIGHT AWAY and get a good description of the man and dog.

I can easily look up the number online. I dont have a phone because my cellphone broke and we dont have a house phone. Brendan said he'd be here shortly though so I can use his cellphone. I know the guy had dark hair and darker skin and was wearing a yellow jacket. It was a little mostly white with some brown patches pup. I've seen them on walks before.

Call the nonemergency number for the police, and tell them to transfer you to dispatch. That's what they'll do if you call the Animal Control number.

OMG, I hope the guy gets more than just fined. I can't believe that people have the decency to beat on a poor helpless dog who just wants to be loved. Unfortunately, I doubt they will take the pup away after a first offense.

Unbelievable!

At least theree are good people like you who do the right thing in these situations!

They checked on him and didn't end up taking the dog. I just saw him outside walking the dog again and he didn't do anything this time. I'm going to keep a really close eye out because that just makes me so mad.

Ugh. He deserves a punishment for that. That poor dog. Someone who outright does that to their dog has probably done it before and will probably do it again.

Not in her neighborhood you don't, Liz. It would be very unwise - to say the least. In fact, I'd recommend that you don't even mention it to anyone other than your roomies, Amber...

It SUCKS that they didn't do anything about it. At least it's on record now, though, I guess.

Ya guys, Nolu is right. My neighborhood is not great. There's a lot of gang violence and very strange people. It's one of those areas where if you say something to someone then you risk either getting seriously injured or killed.

Definetly call.

A while back we were at home and Mac just would NOT stop barkign and growling. We eventually turned off the TV and listened and there was some guy beatng the crap out of a dog a couple of blocks away, we called the police and drove over to check it out. We parked outside the apartment block of where we heard it coming ffrom but it had stopped by now. We waited for the police and then we heard the dog start screaming again and some guy yelling and swearing, mum drove into the driveway, blasted the horn and screamed at the top of her voice to leave the dog alone.

We heard swearing but he stopped, we parked and waited for the cops for about 20 minutes. No doubt a dog being hit by a drunk wasn't high on their priority list, we went home and kept an ear out bur didn't hear it again. Poor dog.

I hope something will come of this. It sucks that the system requires the poor dog to be beaten over and over (or within an inch of it's life) before they take it away and actually DO something about it.
