Meet Nina and Logan

First off, good afternoon everyone.
Meet my 2 newest members to the family.
Nina, my puppy, and Logan, my dad's pup. They are Heeler/Beagle/Golden cross. I found them on a local website that is sponsered by the county and they have doggy classifieds. My dad called them yesterday afternoon and we went and got them last night. It just kind of happened.
We were only gonna get one puppy but my dad wanted a traveling buddy and a companion. So he got a puppy, too.
The mom is a 4 year old Heeler. Gorgeous dog. Good temperment, I wanted to take her home lol.
Logan looks like a heeler but is so calm, a little submissive, and a sweetie pie.
Nina has the long coat of a Golden and has black and tan colorings. She is a little submissive to, loves to play, and is oh so sweet. She follows me everywhere.

Well last night Nina slept in Peanut's cat crate, since Peanut gets free roam of my room at night. For the first 10 minutes she was in there she whined (of course) but I gave her a firm NO and she got quiet, she only made a noise 2 other times last night but I think she was dreaming cause they were little wimpers, so cute. But other than that she slept all night, til about 7:30 this morning (we went to bed around 12:15am cause i watched King Kong.)

How old are they?

They are 7 weeks old. I know not quite 8 weeks.
They are probably gonna stay small, the mom is 30lbs and they don't know how much the dad weighs.
4 puppies looked like Heelers and the other 3 had the black and tan colorings. Nina was the only girl.

They are little. haha.
They are VERY soft. Nina has a thicker coat than Logan. Nina and the other 2 tan and blacks had the thickest coats.

Funny youn should say that... My dad woke up this morning and came into my room and pointed to Nina and said "Happy Valetines Day."

Your dad has a sense of humor! This is probably the only Valentines day present someone has to clean up after. LOL!

UMMM CD not if my mom has anything to say about it! LOL Then Josh will h ave lots of years of cleanup LOL.

Well Nina hasn't used the potty in the house *knock on wood* nor did she use it in her crate last night *knock on wood*.
She is already learning to walk on a leash. Well kinda... I have an old cat leash but I have no collar for her yet, so I made a makeshift collar/lead with Peanut's old leash. If that makes sense, lol.
So Nina, Jet, and I walked down to the creek. Nina walked on her little makeshift lead/collar. Jet played in the shallow parts (I swear she's a Chihuahua trapped in a Lab's body, she's not to fond of water, haha). Nina played in a VERY small pool of water and jumped around and now smells like pond water, lol.
She also let me clip her toenails and brush her hair.

Oh I got a question... How often am I suppose to cut a puppy's nails?
I've looked at websites but they say soooo many different answers.

You can use baby nail clippers at first - that's what I did with Auggie, he was just too tiny for regular clippers. If you're too nervous, your vet can do it for you!
