so i was talking to my mom who has 3 dogs, she lives in Idaho and she has to have Kennel license for her 3. that is the law in her state. Where i live if you have over 2 dogs you are required to have a kennel license. So, i was curious as to the other chazzers on here what is your state legal limit on how many dogs you can have? do you have to have a license? or what are the requirements. i was just wondering because it seems everyone on here as at least 2 dogs ( gotta have a pair of everything) and love is 2 x's the fun, love and companionship.

I know when my hubby and i wanted to get a 3rd dog we were faced with the kennel license, and her in Davis they come do an inspection and check out your property to make sure everything is safe and you have enough room and all. and then there is a fee every year. then, we decided against til we can become more stable and maybe get a bigger place after the twins are born.

I don't think we have a dog limit! Dog taxes are extremly high here in Germany though (depending on the breed).

In our neighbourhood, it's 1. But we have no HOA so there's no real enforcing it without all kinds of ridiculous jumping through hoops, so I doubt if anybody would ever pursue it. We have neighbours with two pugs, and for a while we had the three shelties here, and nobody ever makes a peep about it. (I think most people are actually unaware of the rule; we would have been too, had we not been looking specifically to find out about a different rule and saw the one about dogs.)

The county limit is 4 dogs, but I don't know for sure what you have to do if you have more than 4 dogs in your household.

Where I live, its my grandma's land so....... We can have as many as we'd like, I think. There might be a limit. But nobody's asked here! There was an add in the paper not too long ago, for 29 + kittens! :yikes: I know that is a lot of momma cats, and kittens!!!!

if i had the ability financially and physically i would so get a new pup or two, sadly my hubby is allergic to cats/birds/hamsters/gerbils/ so, we are left with our pups, and even thou he gets sneezy/wheezy he tolerates it because he loves the pups as much ( mostly more) than i do ;) boy am i lucky or what.

The only reason we were taxed is that we lived in a very small town and the tax accessor knew we had dogs !! So much per dog and different if they were spayed or neutered . Sure would help the backyard breeding if people were hit in their pocketbooks !
