My local news today ran this story (don't live in Medford) and I am wondering if this story would have involved any other breed, would it have been covered by anyone beside the local station.

They say the boy was attacked but when he showed his wounds from earlier that day, it didn't look like he had been "attacked" I have seen worse wounds from rough play with cats.

"I started running and they started growling..."

I've had worse injuries from Lhasa Apsos.

If he hadn't pointed his "injuries" out, I wouldn't have noticed they were even there. I obtained a much worse injury when a kid threw a swing at my face in elementary school. It chipped my tooth! Why wasn't THAT on the news?

Oh, come on . . . . slow news day?

Hero? More like, dumb kids. Imagine if that had been a REAL attack.

And, if the father was out there with a hockey stick, I guess they were pretty riled up by the time the cops got there.

Not to mention that last remark about "if you have vicious dogs, don't keep them in the city." How's that for a springboard to campaign for BSL?

Ok, first of all WHAT KIND OF PARENT lets their 12 year old kid run out there to deal with loose dogs that are making neighbor girls scream in fear?? That is concerning.

And telling that kid that he was a hero doesn't help matters.............WTH will he do next time there is an issue?? He may not be so lucky as to come away with a couple little marks on his hand if he tries to interfere with loose dogs on his own next time.

*sigh* I just don't know about people, I really don't.

cummon, hes a little kid who is proud because cops called him a hero. Sure his wounds arent that bad, Im glad they arent that bad. I would never allow my 12 year-old kid to go running outside to 'deal' with some angry dogs, but he was just trying to help out. He should think twice next time.
