Mine are with me a great deal of the time. Bimmer is not a dog who is ever going to like everyone or accept people rushing up to him. He just does not like it. He's fine at the store, but prefers to stay behind the counter. Every once in awhile he'll hear someone he wants to meet, or someone he knows and likes, and come around on his own, but it's not in his nature to want to be a social butterfly and there's no reason to force him to be something he's not.

Kharma been to all sorts of places. She's perfectly capable of blatantly ignoring anyone she doesn't like, lol. When Kharma ignores you, you know you've been ignored :D

I've taken Kharma to Lowes, the Farmer's Co-Op (when she was a baby she cracked everyone up by trying to herd the fake cow out in front  ), the bank, pretty much anywhere there isn't a "No Dogs" sign :D

I always take one or the other of them when I walk to the polling place to vote.

I actually had an extensive list, before I even got Fozzie, of where I needed to take him! HAHA... I'm seriously a loser. But here are all of the best places, in my experience:

- Pet Stores (I carried him, until he had completed his shots)

- Outdoor Shopping Areas (strip malls, outlets, etc)

- Home Improvement Stores (seriously the only times I have ever accompanied my parents to Home Depot)

- Playgrounds (for experience with children and with different surfaces & obstacles)

- Flyball Classes

- Agility Classes

- Herding Classes & Trials

- Obedience Classes & Puppy Kindergarten

- The beach & the lake

- Mountain Bike Races (my sister & brother-in-law go to these every weekend during the summer... there were tons of people!)

- Soccer, Football, & Baseball games (high school, of course)

- To class... with permission from my teacher!

- Elementary Schools

- Friends houses (who doesn't want to play with an adorable puppy?)

- Barns/Stables

- Dog Fairs & Walk-A-Thons

Well he was already a year when I got him, but we went to the park, pet stores, school sports games, vet I guess, friends houses, and that's a bout it.

I really didn't take him to these places with the intent to socialize him honestly. If I could, I'd do a lot of things different, but luckily he turned out great! And was friendly with most everything! :)

Lily basically went everywhere with me. When I had to go to walmart, I took her with me. I could not leave her alone, she was just too tiny. I would wrap her in a blanket and let her sit in the cart. I asked the store manager and she said she did not care as long as she was on a blanket.

There are no dog parks around here, just regular parks which occasional have a dog or two.

No one I know either has a dog that I would trust with my dog -or any other dog- to do a "play group". Only my herding/agility trainer.

Lets see if I remember all the places...

Medieval Festival rehearsals (50-100 people at any given time doing all sorts of things from skits to magic to juggling fire to stage fighting and more) as well as the medieval festival itself!

Various pet stores

Banks

Local drugstore

Home Hardware

Photo/camera store

My highschool (twice for presentations, many times for play rehearsals - until another girl thought she would bring her pooch in too then didnt clean up after it and dogs got banned)

Post Offices

Sled races

Puppy Kindergarten (never again!)

General down town in my town and the neighbouring city's down town

Parks (both offleash and other)

Playgrounds

Mum's soccer games

Dad's baseball games

To sum it up, basically if I was going somewhere and there were no specifications that dogs werent allowed, I bring the dogs! LOL Oh ya Ronan's old owner's shop too! Dogs are the official client greeter there :D

We live near two public parks, one is beside forest like park and good for dog walking. We never had problems walking Wishbone, although he has agility and likes to run here and there, he was very friendly specially with kids. When someone approach him, he just waggle his tails, sit and smile or lick their hands.
