I took in a stray the other day that we suspected had a bit of kennel cough. I kept her separated from my dogs but still my two Huskies are now coughing. The dogs have an appointment for Monday at the vet but does anyone know what cough suppresant is safe for dogs? My guys are just miserable coughing and hacking and I want to keep them comfortable till they can see the vet monday. Long ago I had a dog with KC and the vet had told me to get an over the counter cough syrup , and she was specific as to what one it was cause it was safe for the dog to take but now I just CAN'T remember what it was because it was so long ago.

I used Robitussin Gel Caps . . . just regular not DM or any of that stuff. I gave Teeny one in the morning and one at night for 5 days, and for 7 days I gave her Slippery Elm three times a day. Knocked it out of her in 7 days flat!! No vet visit needed!
