LOL I know it's gross... but Belle keeps doing it. How can I get her to stop? she usually does it at night... she's a bad girl at night and ALWAYS goes in the house but she has been making progress and doesn't go in the house during the day anymore.... so baby steps here.

but anyway what can I do to stop her from eating it? I know vets can give you something to put in their food but she doesn't go to the vet until January so until then is there anything I can do?

I have heard cut up Pineapple and there is an OTC product you can buy that worked with Booger. It was Deter something.
Hmmm we will have to look for that.... you just get it at the pet store?

I will try Pineapple.... don't know if she will eat it or not but I will try and see if that works.

Also, any tips for her NASTY poop breath lol

I dont know about petsmart but we got it at the place we buy our dog food which is a local chain.

and they actually have doggy mints. the sprays dont work that well at least in my experience. But four paws breath treats seemed to work really well.

Zoe does it too! Ugh the poop breath! I think I'm going to try the pineapple thing as well but she eats not just hers but everyone else's too AND unfortunately usually fresh from the source as well. BLAH! Makes me shutter just thinking about it.

Sprinkle her food with meat tenderizer (a low sodium formula if you can find it). It does something to the food during digestion - I've heard this will make the poop bitter so she'll be less likely to eat it.

You can buy the poop powder LOL (the stuff you put in food) at many pet and feed stores and not just at the vet--it worked for Honey but we are out and she has went back to her poop eating ways.

lol Nice post count, sparks!

I think the tenderizer that's supposed to work best is "Adolfs".

Has Belle always done that?

As for the breath, I'd let her have a good chew on a raw bone followed by a mint-flavored cookie. And no kisses.

Well we have only had her for about a year so i dont' know if she has ALWAYS done it and we didn't notice her doing it until just a couple months ago... and she doesn't do it everytime just sometimes.

Deter works slightly for Terra. Mostly I just have to follow her around and threaten to tenderize her if she goes near a pile of poo. The tricky part is when she poos in her crate; usually by the time I smell it, she's already eaten it. So I make sure she gets a potty break late at night, and the husband lets them out early in the morning, so she can usually go through the night without having an accident in her crate.

Poo breath is nothing. What's really lovely is when they come up in your face and give you a poo BURP.

If she's going in the house at night and then eating it, you oughta crate her until she's house trained. And make sure you clean up any poop as soon as she does it when you are awake so she can't eat it.

I'm not sure I'd go putting chemicals like MSG into my dog's food. I think that's what meat tenderizer is mostly made of.
