What would you do if you was attacked by a man with a knife at Night

Due to recent avents i was attacked in london on sunday night by a man with a Knife. (yes i'm fine) he tried to stab me but i managed to dodge the first attack and ended up with a nice gash on my right arm. After speaking to the police they said i was very brave but also stupied to try and defend myself.

Like i wouldn't try and defend myself from someone attacking me. I have been trained to defend myself under all sorts of conflicts.

What are your views on this and what would you have done if you was put in those circumstances?

OMG.........I am glad to hear you are ok!!

Did they call you "stupid" for defending yourself because you didn't want to give up your wallet, or did the guy just start attacking you?

I think I would cooperate as far as giving up my $$ or whatever.........but if they acted like they wanted to do bodily harm I would fight like a wild cat and take my chances!!

I'd be beating ass, straight up. Even with a knife, I'd fight back. I dread any man that comes at me with a knife trying to rob me. I will make as big a racket as I can, and hit him with whatever possible.

I mean, it's your life they have in their hand... would you rather A) Sit there and let them slash your throat or B) Die fighting for you own life? Even if you didn't win, it is still a battle won.

that depends, was the guy just threatening you for your wallet and you wouldnt hand it over...cause if thats the case yes you were stupid, credit cards and such can be reported stolen and replaced, your life cannot, if it was a case of hand over your walet and he woudl have left my walet would be in his hand and id be claling in to the police as soon as he bolted...

however if he took the first swing for no aparent reason, forget it, a quick kick to the groin then an elbow between the shoulderblades hed still be crying when the police arrived...
if its a question of my wllet or my life my life wins...however if its a question of my life by doing nothing or my life by fighting back, ill fight back any day.

Try to get upwind of him.

I don't walk at night - or very often in the day - without Kharma. I've seen what she can and will do. Dude's gonna be smellin' kinda ripe after he soils himself

I'd bring out the pepper spray. Glad you're okay. Treat the wound in your arm with some GOOD bacteria-killing stuff.. god knows what was on his knife.
