We had a cookout a few days ago and my hubby cooked bone in beef ribs. We threw the bones to the dogs to chew on because they don't seem to be able to chew through them real quick and last a long time. Except that one by one over the last few days they have been disappearing.
Yesterday we were sitting outside watching the dogs and the kids play and we saw Molly go running past with one of the bones in her mouth. She headed straight to where we had the pumpkins planted (we harvested the pumkins the same day as the BBQ) and promptly dug a hole, dropped the bone in and then shoveled the dirt back over it with her nose.
I have never seen a dog do this in real life. I have seen it on TV shows and cartoons. It was so cute.
As soon as she got it all buried good she came running over to us with her dirt covered nose, wagging her tail and acting really proud of herself. It was so funny. Of course she got told how cute she was. Well at least now we know where all of the bones went. Upen further inspection of the now empty pumpkin patch, we found several newly made mounds of dirt. I guess she plans on keeping all of the bones safe,LOL.
