You will have a hard time at the GREAT WHITE THRONE judgment in Revelation 20:11-15.
Perhaps you can argue with the Lord there.
Now, that would be an interesting argument as he tells his angels to bind you hand and foot and cast you into the Lake of Fire.
2) Are you a Christian or some sort of Old Testament radical? If you are a Christian I wish you would show me where Jesus or the apostles suggest hitting anyone. Quoting the Old Testament isn't going to fly unless you also follow all the dietary laws and burn offerings on a regular basis.
The GREAT WHITE THRONE is 'new" testament my dear. The physical disciplinning of children from Proverbs is still in effect today. Just as some (not all) of the old testament. For example: Genesis 1:1 says God created the heaven and the earth. Still in effect today.
Dear Toscas Mom:
How can you advocate killing me, a human being, when you will not even properly correct a dog? When people start to worship dogs to the point of idolatry, it is a good sign of their sinful condition.
I have read with great interest all of these words regarding the physical punnishment of dogs. It amazes me that people are so carnal and wicked in their thinking as to elevate a DOG higher than a human being. People have said here that they would love to kill Richling. For what? Disciplining a dog in a humane way? Yet these same people do not understand that God Almighty said to PHYSICALLY DISCIPLINE OUR CHILDREN. Now, if it is good enough for children, and during the reign of King David in Israel they used "staves" on dogs (SEE 1 SAMUEL 17) then why do you people think you are smarter than God?
Once again, Kodaz, if you are a Christian, I would love to see a Christian argument for this point of view. I don't advocate killing or hurting anyone, by the way, even people who abuse innocent creatures.
To DR Mom,
Romans chapter 13 gives proof of God Almighty both allowing the authorities to put to death people and Romans 14 gives the normal citizen the RIGHT to physically kill someone who is hurting them...
You asked, I answered.
How come GOD records in his word in 1 Samuel 17 that "staves" were used on dogs? How come GOD commands fathers to use RODS to physically correct their children?
So Kodaz, how do you decide which parts of the Old Testament you will follow. How do you know which parts God wants you to follow and which parts you should toss? Your GREAT WHITE THRONE example is unrelated to the striking of dogs OR children. I feel pretty certain that Jesus is opposed to half drowning dogs in holes AND thrashing children.
I don't use violence on either aminals or people to make them obey me. I do not elevate dogs over people. Feeling that people are above dogs does not require me to hurt dogs.
No one said THRASHING DrMom.
JESUS CHRIST is NOT against the physical correction of children as he upholds the book of Proverbs in his teachings. And as far as knowing which parts of the old testament apply today and which do not? 2 Timothy 2:15 says to "rightly divide the word of truth" my dear.
That's how...
No one said VIOLENCE either Dr Mom.
I said CORRECTION.
Your taking God's words from scripture and changing them. God said to physically correct children with a rod. Now, who should folks believe? You or the Bible?

So God just wants you to use your own best judgement on which part of His word you should obey? In that case everyone else can do the same, since I doubt you have any special expertise on this one, and my reading is that using force and intimidation on those weaker than us is thoroughly unchristian. Also, I am not your dear and do not appreciate your condescending tone. I have treated you with nothing but respect here and would appreciate the same in return.
If you understand the context of where 2 Timothy 2:15 is found you will see that 2 people were taking Bible truths and putting them in wrong time periods. The apostle Paul is the apostle to the Gentiles today with a message from the Risen Lord for our obedience today. If Paul's epistles do not cancel out OLD TESTAMENT passages, then you understand that they are FOR today. SO....the physical correcting of children stands. my dear...
