there are lots of mastiff breeds other than english mastiffs. and mastiffs are guardian breed dogs.

i'll be curious what the autopsy reveals. it's entirely possible that he died from other causes (heart attack, whatever) and the dogs got at his body.

I have seen scary EMs before but I have never heard of one actually attacking and doing serious damage.

Did anyone read some of the comments people wrote on the stories....people still want to blame pit bulls....and clearly none of these dogs are Pit Bulls

Any idiot who believes he would have gotten away from four mastiffs of any kind if they'd been intent on killing him - or even hurting him - is, well, an idiot.

And WTF does him having or not having Filas have to do with anything, since it seems they weren't even involved?

I watched one of the videos where the talking head for the police was on camera . . . what an idiot. Every other phrase was some sensational adjectives strung together to make a sexy newsclip guaranteed to get on some celebrity news crapola show - right after the gratuitous nightly Lindsay Lohan story . . . .

Reports are now apparently saying that the bite wounds were NOT fatal, and that he died from a heart attack. They're not saying whether the bite wounds happened pre or post mortem. Frankly I'm inclined to believe, on dogs with no aggressive history with someone they know, that he died of the heart attack and then the dogs came upon him.

Around here a few years back there was a man who died and his dog, his faithful companion of 10 years, ate his face. Dogs being dogs.

Did you watch this video? http://www.tmz.com/tmz_main_video?titleid=1125863720

Notice the position of those dogs' tails while they're being handled? Those dogs are big babies. If they were prone to violent behavior, those tails would be up and stiff with strangers handling them and taking them away from their territory like that.
They look very sweet . . . especially with ALL of those people on the property:yikes: I'll tell you right now, Teeny would NOT be having that at all.

Neither would Kharma, lol . . . and Bimmer? Oh, he'd be in a foul mood - and he'd be behind someone, especially if they were trying to haul Kharma off

I have to watch his furry little butt . . . he thinks he's Godzilla. He even went after a black bear all by himself.

I find it hard to believe that he had the heart attack, died, and then got himself to the front yard, where there were no dogs.

Most reports say that the dog bites were not fatal- he could have been having a heart attack while trying to get to the front yard, with the dogs trying to "help".

That one video that shows the dogs being put/taken away, their tails are wagging and their posture tells of NO aggression whatsoever.

It seems the authorities need to get their facts straight before they release information to the media and the media releases to the public.

It's a d@mn shame and I hope to the high heavens that the dogs had nothing to do with it, though.
