Hi and welcome to Chaz! There are lots of BC owners here! They are such great dogs. I wish I had the time for one, but they are sooooo energetic! I have enough trouble keeping my German Shepherd exercised.

I have 2 terrific Border Collies and will be getting a third in about a month. I don't think I'll ever be without one again.

Eve, my service dog and stockdog in training:

Dakota, my agility guinea pig and my dad's soul dog:

Dash, the baby.

Where's the "thud" emoticon? She's drop-dead gorgeous, Herschel. You can see the intelligence and mischief in her eyes.

Tess and her kitty are ADORABLE! Aww

Thanks! I'll pass on the kind words. :)

She's growing and gaining so much confidence. In the past few days, she's really shown her desire to work and she's been offering positive behaviors all over the place.

It's hard to believe that Eve is only two months older. She looks like such a mature young adult!

Does anyone show in AKC!
Ouch!

Most all the BC people on here are highly against showing borders. They were originally bred to work(as you probably already know), and most people who are showing are breeding for looks and not working. Working border people are fighting to keep the working BC lines strong, and to keep the AKC out of the lines too. When you breed for showing, you are getting rid of the working lines more and more.

I don't have a border collie, but I used to have a border collie / lab mix. She was so incredibly smart and upbeat!

I have a Border Collie x named Millie. She's brilliant. My next dog I plan to be another BC, probably rescue. I want to do herding trails, though. Millie was born with a lot of herding instinct but my mom always discouraged it.

Our Gracie is a BC mix..she is a high energy dog.. My hubby and I have often thought about getting her into the agility training & Competitions..or the jump retrieving...She's a rocket when you cut her loose and let her run!

Here she is before we got her coat cut short..

Your dog herds your cats? Poor kitties. Mine won't tolerate that behavior and I make a point to discourage it.

Um, not to mention that dogs don't work cats at herding trials. Has he ever been on actual sheep?
