That sounds yummy TM............I have just been doing the 1/2 peanut butter 1/2 yogurt recipe.

Gonna try this one, I am sure they won't refuse it ;)

Ya, not only is Frosty paws overpriced, I was surprised to see all the ingredients listed.........whey protein, soy flour, blah, blah, blah. I have only bought it ONCE........seen the ingredients, and said NO MORE. But, what do you expect when Purina is the maker?? LOL

Thanks for the recipe. My daughter gave my dogs their first taste of the treat and they loved it but it is so expensive. This will be a nice treat and I can freeze it in smaller, Yorkie sized containers.

We use a similar recipie at work, but with more peanut butter and minus the water. Maybe we should try that...it looks really funky when it melts now. But it does taste good for people too!

Tosca only gets it at my cousin's house. Her Akita is so tuned into that stuff that she sits in front of the fridge and stares at the freezer at exactly 7 PM and starts salivating. If nobody pays attention to her, she goes over the my Aunt, who is a complete and total pushover.

My dogs are the same way. We get home from work and they eat dinner. And then they IMMEDIATELY run to the door that leads upstairs to my parent's house as they know my mother has Frosty Paws waiting for them. I figure this way they can still have their treat AND I won't have to listen to my mother bitch about the price!!

They know the words "Ice Cream" now so we have to be careful when we say it!

I was watching food network a couple months ago and they featured Frosty Paws on the show Unwrapped and they showed how they made them and stuff. The guy said it was perfectly safe for a human to eat, although it's probably not as tasty for a human. I can't imagine they would be any worse for a dog to eat. It's not like their entire diet is frosty paws. Who cares about the ingredients, it's a treat!

Just because it's safe for human consumtion doesn't mean I'd feed it to my dogs. There are a ton of healthy treats out there for dogs commercial and home made. After all we choose what we want to eat. They only get to eat what we give them. While I agree that they aren't living off it...I still won't feed it to them just because of the ingredients.

So we tried the recipe . . . and Wally gave it the big thumbs down. Teeny will eat it, though (then again, she'll eat ANYTHING). So Wally will still be getting Frosty Paws until I can find/invent a new recipe that he'll actually eat.

Wally knew it was less expensive and decided to pull your chain.:lol-sign:

Tosca really liked it, but then Tosca will eat a rock if I put peanut butter on it.

That is great for you, the original poster nor any other poster to this thread said YOU had to make this for YOUR dog. :)

Toscasmom, Thank You for this recipe.:hail: I have a very picky golden and he absolutely loved it. The only thing I did different was I added one more tbsp of peanut butter and honey to make it a little sweeter. I have a question though, how often can he have this and how much should he get? I believe the cups I have are about six ounces. Anyway I had never even heard of Frosty Paws until now. Is this recipe about the same as the real Frosty Paws you get at the store? THANK YOU I have one happy golden right now.:lol-sign:

Hmmm wonder if Cider would eat that. She turned down the real ones. Wonder if she read the ingredients first ;)
