You get a special hot pink bow to put in your hair with a little turtle on it. :D
Yes, it's quite spesh-al. :D

Sounds like a lovely experience with a well behaved poochie :)

I have never met any doodles.........well bred or otherwise. I think I would like to though, but then I would like to meet EVERY breed at least once in my life :) Just to see what I may or may not be missing.

EDIT: FYI........dobermans were originally bred around 1890, and accepted into AKC (recognized as a breed) in 1908 (I believe) :)

I completely agree with Jess and BP. I just find it pretty sad that a thread telling about a meeting with a sweet dog turned into a bash fest.

Thanks for posting that Laurelin. There are so many working Labradoodles.

Most of Sophies brothers and sisters are guide dogs and were donated by her breeder and bred mainly for that purpose.:)

wow how did this thread come from someone saying they met their first Labradoodle to getting into a debate on ethical breeding ?
I got to say that some people here are getting a bit self righteous and looking for a reason to have their say and it is getting nuts.
Am I for breeding a labradoodle or any other new breed ????
Yes why not I would be a bit hypocritical if I said I was not. Being that my breed of choice is the ACD which took many many years of breeding several breeds to get the ultimate breed.
I do not agree with byb labradoodles and all the knock off doodles going around from byb's but from people who know what they are doing etc and how to do it go for it. New breeds are always welcome and they do serve a purpose. But my main ???? is here why are we even going into to this bashing again and debating on it when all that is said is that it was a super friendly dog etc ? Golly folks you really need to lighten up and quit being so critical or this forum will go down in ruin. I mean we all are against byb's and mistreatment of animals and when we see one among us who is doing it by all means go for it but do be careful not to turn a nice thread about meeting a sweet dog into a " who shot John thread"

LOL. What else could it possibly turn into? Just like that thread a couple of weeks ago where the guy posted pictures of his something-doodle pup and it took about 4 posts for folks to start with the pontificating. There's no quicker way to trigger a ruckus on this forum than mentioning a doodle...unless it's going on a parenting forum and typing "formula."

I have yet to meet a doodle, but I can imagine the Goldendoodle cross would be just as irresistibly sweet as you say, Renee if bred soundly. Thanks for sharing your story I love meeting new doggies...although some people think I'm a head case because I'm usually rolling around with them or burying my face in their fur and giving smooches within 15 seconds...:)
