Will anyone assume he is pitbull?

My husband and I are going camping next weekend at a campground that is just outside the city limits of a city that has banned pitbulls. He is only going to be 13 weeks old at that point. I am trying to decide if we should take him with us or leave him at a friends. I would rather take him with us. He is my baby. And I just don't trust anyone to keep him under the same routine.

We make him sit when we are petting him. Sit for food. Sit and stay. And I work a few different leave it situations with him daily. I also put him in a stay and make him hold it for a min before I let him out of his kennel every time. He gets so excited to get out.

It may seem a little intense, but if he is pitbull, I want to make sure there are no instances that promote giving the breed a bad name.

I don't see pit bull at all. I think he's just a good old adorable Heinz 57.

I don't think anyone is going to give you trouble over a 13 week old pup anyway. And no, I don't see any evidence of APBT in the mix. GSD probably, and it's untold what else as it's so difficult to tell at that age . . . but he's just adorable, whatever he is :)

And remember, the more you take him places with you and socialize him and let him learn about the world the better off he's going to be when he grows up!

Very cute. I agree, no pitt in him. Go on your camping trip and enjoy it, but be careful he doesn't go in areas that a lot of dogs frequent until he has been fully vaccinated.

We are going to the Vet tommorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think that should finish him up for shots! I'm not sure, how many times do puppies go in for shots. This would be visit number two! I am so excited. We had five garage sales on our block last weekend, so I couldn't resist, I took him out on his leash, and introduced him to the neighbors, and the shoppers. He did so good. So far he loves people and attention. But I never let anyone pet him until he is in a stay. He is starting to catch on. When he sees people he sits, but if they are not close enough he will get up and get closer and sit. Such a good boy. Still gets a little anxious with the cat.

The cat teases him. Merlin will go and sit next to him and tease him with his tail. Flop it next to him and move it when he goes for it. Then flops it close to him again.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about taking him camping with you. I don't see the slightest bit of pit in him. I agree with everyone else, some shepherd, some collie, bernese, I don't know. Just definately not pit bull.

I would say either a burnese mountain dog/german shepherd mix. or a german shepherd/border collie mayber australian shepherd mix. Very cute. I like his fluffyness. ... maybe even a burnese mountain dog/border collie mix. lol i could do this all day! i am normally pretty good at determining breed mixes. But i deffinatly see no pit bull in him what so ever. I would know because i can see the slightest pit in most dogs. As pit bulls are my favorite dog or mix -wink-

Camping trip = loads of fun!

Well, the camping trip went off with out one hitch! Lots of people wanted to pet and play with Chance. When ever anyone asked what kind of dog he was I said I'm not sure what do you see. Most people said doberman pincher, gsd, collie. I was like sweet!

Brad took him running on a leash and a bike. It was great. While he was running only one person said "wow, if you keep running that dog like that he is going to turn into one mean pit" I stopped and said "what are you talking about" He said that when that dog was running his chest and neck really looked like a pittbull and running him like that is really going to make his muscles prominent. Whatever.

We went swimming and boating and fishing.

Chance was the only one to catch anyfish. Of course it was already dead. And we weren't fishing at the time. We were swimming and he was running around with this dead fish. All the kids were running and screaming. He thought is was awesome.
