I was wondering if someone could look at the picture below and tell me what they think my american bull is mixed with. I got him from a rescue and they had no info on him. The american bull is very apparent in his looks, but they said they were quite sure he wasnt full blooded. All I can tell you is this puppy is growing like a weed. At 4 months he is atleast 2 feet tall to the top of his head when he sits......and his paws are the size of my friends full grown lab. Several people have said St Bernard, but i just dont know. This pic was about a month ago when he was 3 months old. I would give an updated pic but guess who chewed up the cord to my digital camera? LOL Cant be too mad cause thats all hes chewed up so far. Thanks for any insight.

I'm not sure how much bully breed I see in him, but it's def. not much. I would say mostly St. Bernard.

I agree I dont see much Bully in him. He looks like he might be a St. Bernard X to me.

I don't see much bullydog either. Does he have dewclaws on his back feet? That would indicate some kind of mountain or livestock guardian breed, such as the Great Pyr. Maybe folks more familiar with those breeds can say which ones have the rear dewclaws.

Yes he has the dewclaws on his rear feet. He weighs close to 35 lbs right now. Sounds like the majority is St. Bernard. Gonna try and make him a vet appt next week so Ill see what they think too.

From the pics ive seen on google of american bul dogs, I dont see how some of you say hes not. Maybe its just me.

He looks a lot like this one on the right.

Hmm he really doesn't look at all American Bulldog to me and if he has rear dewclaws then he probably isn't. It will be easier to tell once he is full grown. Best of luck with him. How old is he again??

I agree with the majority here, he doesn't look like he has any American Bulldog in him. I'm not sure about Saint either but he definately looks like he has some sort of livestock guardian in him. Although, having said that, I did think that maybe he has Landseer Newfoundland in him, but that's based purely on his size and colouring. So don't quote me. ;)

OC's right, you'll be able to have a better guess once he matures.

Cass.

I don't see any Saint Bernard either. A Saint pup at the same age is much larger than your cute pup, typically 20lbs heavier which for a 4 month old pup is significant. A GSD would be closer to the size of your pup at the same age. Alot of people will see a face mask on a big pup and guess Saint, but I don't see it. A Saint mix typically shares the same color as a Saint Bernard and this dog is black and white. A recent picture would make it easier. I have seen alot of Saints and Saint mixes and I am pretty sure that Saint Bernard is NOT the dominant breed in this cuttie pie!

Lizmo I think you may be right. I owned one once and I do think he looks a bit like a LN. He still looks like a Saint to me but what to I know lol. I don't have much experience with Saints. But I can say this at least. I don't see much, if any, bully in him.
