Hello board.

I'm the new Aussie owner formerly known as DoglessInSeattle. I apologize for the name change, but it doesn't work anymore as of today and I have made some friends through PMs who will absolutely insist on a name change. :hail:

As some of you know I've been researching my next dog after a 20 year hiatus without a canine companion. I hit the jackpot today. ****, I just realized I forgot to buy my lotto ticket today. Oh well, how much good fortune can a guy expect in one day.

We met with a breeder this morning to ask questions and just see the dog. We had no intention of purchasing a dog today. But Mrs DoggyDaze will be on Easter break for the rest of the week and we just felt so good about the breeder and CeCe we took the plunge. The Mrs. is absolutely tickled with her and she seems to be everything I want in an Aussie. She is lying at my feet as I type. http://www.donegalaussies.com/forsale.html .

Getting my wife onboard with the dog is huge! She is a cat person, but she got that maternal "all gooey inside" thing going as soon as she saw CeCe's pic. And CeCe didn't disappoint during the introduction. She is really great.

She's had a busy day beginning with a trip to the park with her mom and her Aussie housemates and ending up in a new home with a couple of strangers and a very suspicious cat. We stopped with her at Petco and I have taken her for a nice walk around the Marina. She is wonderful! On leash I have to keep checking to make sure she is still there. We haven't heard her bark yet but she is obviously a little stressed. Lots of new odors and sounds in new places. She has been a total angel with all of the strangers and several dogs she met today. She is ignoring the cat.

She's blowing her coat so we're getting a crash course in grooming. She also reacted to our camera and my tape measure. So I haven't been able to get a good picture or measure just how tall she is. Both objects are small, shiny and make odd noises.

There are a couple of pictures of her at the URL above, but I'll link to them here if Angelfire will permit it.

Warning, popups at the URL.

Anyway, I feel like I know so many of you already. The Cahzhounds members have a good thing going here and it's because of all of the great people who post on and who run this board.

So, what about that Cesar guy??

Nice to meet you all, DoggyDaze.

She's a year and half. DOB October 2005.

She is very pretty, but even better she's very calm, so far. I expect the real CeCe to begin peeking through over the next week or so.

If anybody has any experience or advice on introducing a dog to a new home, I'm a good listener.

Hey, she's the same age Sawyer was when I brought her home. Neat.

What I do is just keep the dog near me at all times at first and I also start establishing house rules right off the bat and introducing them to where their bowls are, where the door to the yard is and then just letting them explore.

That's proving to be very easy. Everytime I maka noise ofr move she looks at me. If I get up shae follows me around the house.

Just what I hoped for. :D

You will never go to the bathroom alone again. :D Mine will be dead asleep, but if I get up to go down the hall, he's right there with me within seconds.
