ROFL! I nearly have Hill's mem'rized, it's so odious. I took particular insult to that Advanced Protection. Talk about a misnomer! What's my prize?

I don't have one to add, but isn't it great that Dogster chose such a nutrious product such as Dad's Dogfood as their official sponser? *vomit*

I think someone needs to stage a coup over at AAFCO and reformulate EVERYTHING about those feeding guidelines.

Here's my entry - Innovative Veterinary Diets Lifestages Puppy formula. As you can see from the following quote, it is recommended by top Labradoodle breeders - what else do I have to say?

"We use the best puppy food available, IVD, Innovative Veterinary Diet, puppy for our puppies, it is only availabe through a vet."

Aww, crap. You can't link to the food's site to get the ingredients. It is just for vets. That's how amazing this food is! The magazine I found it in lists it's main ingredients as "Corn, Poultry by-product meal, and ground rice".

To make it even more appealing, it falls right under Innova in the list. How could anyone look at those ingredient lists and pick this one?

I really wish more people would turn the bags OVER and actually READ these ingredients before blindly following the million dollar advertising campaigns. I mean even without knowing nutrition, you'd know that *SOMETHING* isn't right there... wouldn't you?

I agree. I don't see why people will not look at what they are feeding. It blows my mind.

I remember as a child my grandparents feeding Gaines Burger to their dog. That stuff looked nasty, almost like playdough with its long red wormy strings formed into a burger patty. I don't think they make it anymore though I'm curious as to what ingredient went into it. Yuck!
