I have seen some people biking with there dogs
off leash, which is great for the dogs with good
recall and who love lots of exercise.

My little guy on the other hand is not to big on exercise,
but would like to come along.

What do you think about using one of these kid things
to hook up to the back of a bike?

I've done it ;)

My 'cart' thingy is a little different, but I think they're both good. Maddie is big on exercise, so I take it just in case I want to go farther than I think she should, or if she needs a break, etc. I also pack it the right way so I can carry quite a bit of water, but it can't slide around so its not in the way if I do put Maddie in there.

She likes it, and she knows whats going to happen if she sees me struggling to put it on my bike (lol). My only suggestion would be to teach your dog that its okay to be in there, so he likes it, and start pulling around a couple of feet and then letting him out again. That way he gets used to it, just in case ;) If you've never used one before, its best to practice turning and stuff while towing it behind you so you are used to it and you don't crash with the dog in there ! ;)

Hmm... I haven't done it in quite a while, though.

I love my bike trailer thingy LOL Its mostly only used as a "stroller" but I've attached it to my bike a few times. I had to get Dodger used to it as a stroller first for safety reasons and I'd never use it on a main road!!!

Where Dodger goes the cat follows (as you can see, her STAY needs work:D)

I love the photos :D

Jes 2416, would you like to expand on exackly what you mean?

They use them for kids safely. I Know they had kid seat belts, but
it cold be used with a dog harness like you would use in the car.
Its also fully zippered so would easily contain a dog that you
got used to it (unless the dog hates it and is destructive to
the sides)

The thing I noticed is:
The first post/picture looks like a jogging stroller, it looks as though it would tip if put behind a bike.....you know when taking a turn.
The later photos look like they are made for pulling behind a bike...

But what do I know? :D

Sure I'll expand on what I said...

It looks like an accident waiting to happen...IMO...how much more explaining can be done ??

The bike can tip over, that thing could tip over...that thing could become loose and it doesnt matter how good of a bike rider someone is, the simple fact is: accidents happen....and I for one will not be the one to take that chance...but what you choose to do is up to you...I wouldn't never do it, but thats my opinion, and I'm sticking to it...

It has 3 wheels... not designed for pulling behind a bike.
Agreed, now something like that was like the other picture...thats a whole different story....I can see that being behind a bike

Ohh I was thinking a true bike attachment the one Lissa posted... Not trying to make a jogging stroller go on the back of a bike...

It actually has an attachment to work both ways.
I found the add here and posted that pic just to give an idea of what
I was talking about (I am not sure if you take the front wheel off when
using it with a bike or not)

add found here

Um in regards to the comments about 3 wheels... well the other one has 2 wheels, why is it more safe??
Would you like it better with 4 wheels instead?
Why would it be trusted with kids, but not with dogs?

I think that anything can tip over. You an tip over on a bike as well... does that mean you never ride one? I really don't get the argument.
I guess I don't play into the "what ifs" in life, otherwise I would never do anything, because there are way to many what ifs.

I think that using this on an off road or dirt road might not work well, but on a paved bike path I do not see the issue. (though my perspective may be the diference in the upkeep of our roads and sidewalks/paths. When I go into NY or MI the road conditions are really bad compared to ours in my opinion...)

I agree with you the argument is kinda pointless IMO it has a attchment...and i doubt anways it would tip over with the wheels it has on the back

Well, good for you :)
What?
