The Official "What are you reading" Thread

I am rereading Gone with the Wind for the nth time.

bigdog is that any good ? Bought it not started it yet finishing up another just wondering.

right now I am reading the girl who loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King
And Betty bears birthday Every night for the last month to my 5 year old she loves it. And also read monsters under my bed to my 6 year old last night uhhh do those count:lol-sign:

I mostly read fiction novels by Lois Duncan. I just love her books. I recently finished "Gallows Hill" and now I've started "Who Killed My Daughter?", a non-fiction based on the murder of her daughter.

I am reading a book called "Exile's Honor" but I don't remember who it's by.

Honestly, I thought it dragged on waaaay too long. It threw me off and since I already knew how it ended, I stopped reading it completely. The ending is good but not good enough for me to read through 10 pages of King describing a mahogany chair. He's got that problem in a lot of his books.

That was a while ago though.

I just finished Stephen King's "Cell" not too long ago. Good premise, but I found the same thing as you by the end. The last quarter of the book just seemed to be filling time, kwim? I got the the end and thought, "Eh? That's it?".

Now I'm reading "Forever Odd" by Dean Koontz. I think it's the second in a series but I didn't read the first one. Haven't gotten far enough into it to tell if I like it or not, but I haven't put it back on my bookshelf yet.

I'm glad this was brought up again. I was desperately searching for a good book to read. Now I'll just go through this again and see if there's anything I'm interested in.

Nothing *Attempted* Dogs: A Startling New Understanding of Canine Origin, Behavior & Evolution (I WILL finish that one day, I will I will I will) by the Coppingers, but since I read mostly at bed time, well.....


I love reading, but I have no clue what to crack open. Unless it's about animals. I can't even remember the last non-dog related book I read because I have such a tough time. I'm lame, I know.

i just read proper care and feeding of husbands by dr laura [highly recommend], arabian knights, and prince otto by robert louis stevenson, and an old george macdonald book. and i finished the foundation series by asamov not too long ago.

currently trying to decide if i should read shirley by charlotte bronte or domby and son by dickens or one of the russians or start the paradise war by lawhead that i just picked up. someone in an older post mentioned orson scott card which reminds me that i want to read more of his stuff. i read the ender books. ack! too many books to read!

plus i have some grooming books, photography books and a couple dog books kicking around. i don't tend to read those cover to cover, though. more of a browse.

I haven't had time to read a book in ages, however last week I read a book about horse behaviour and right now I'm reading a book called The nature of horses.

The Other End of the Leash was great; it was pretty much my favorite book of its kind.
Right now I'm re-reading The Diary of A Young Girl- The Definitive Edition (the diary of Anne Frank). The Holocaust has captured my interest in a major way. I've always wanted to go into Auschwitz and experience the chills down my spine like people say they feel when they enter.
I'm also reading Watership Down and just started Mindless Eating by Brian Wansink. So far Mindless Eating has been very interesting.

I'm reading Marley and Me by John Grogan. I got it for my birthday yesterday. I'm only in 30 or so pages but it's great so far.

ARGH - well. I am writing essays, so I currently have about... 12 books in front of me.

Hurrah.
