I thought it would be fun to post where we live (if you are comfortable with doing so) and what you like and dislike about your state.

I live in Minnesota. I love the warm summers, the trees, lakes, wildlife, and beautiful but too short fall colors. There is not much I hate about MN, but the one thing I do makes me wish I lived elsewhere--the bitter cold that comes around like it is right now.
I like the casual midwest life. MN drivers are awful. The winter ice makes for hazardous driving. I like the lack of many natural disasters. I wish MN was not so flat. Small time life.

I live in Florida...

I do not dislike the state of Florida, but I HATE living in Orlando. I am up here for school, and I can't wait to move away from here. I hate how populated it is in this city =/

I love the coasts of Florida... I love going to the beaches. I also love how it doesn't get too cold down here.

Don't like it. Really, besides the nice cool winters, there is nothing redeeming about this place to me. It's sweltering during the summer, there's very little grass, no forests, I feel completely detached from nature . . . And there should not be this much sand ANYWHERE unless there is an ocean within a mile of it. It's just not really my kind of place.

I'd love to move back north where I grew up, or go for a big change and move east.

The cities are rather blah, not terribly exciting (sprawling suburbia hell makes up most of my area) but that is changing with the revitalization of downtown. The scenery is subtle and most people mistake it for boring (which along I-70 it really is) but there are pockets here and there that just take your breath away. The weather needs some adjusting...the temp always bounces around so you can never get adjusted properly, or else it just gets extremely hot/cold and stays there.

I've grown to love the state and don't have a huge draw to go anywhere else permanently.

I live in MN too and pretty much agree with all of that :)
The weather right now is killing me, but I love snow so I guess I'll have to deal with it. :p

I lived not far from Phoenix (Chandler heights) from age 12-18 way out in the boonies (nothing but desert for miles!) I agree with your description, it definitely isn't for everyone.

Now I live in Very Northern Indiana. I was born about an hour from where I live now, and I love Indiana. I could live with out the cold at times, but having changing seasons that you can tell apart makes things more interesting............and you get to shop for 4 different wardrobes :)

There is not always a whole lot to do, so you must be creative in your thinking. Most places in our town "roll up the sidewalks" by about 8 pm.

But there is MORE than corn in Indiana if you look hard enough ;)

I live in MN also. Haven't been here long enough to really get a feel for the state yet. So far I'm dissapointed in the lack of snow. The cold is crazy. The dogs line up at the door to get dressed in their coats before they go out.

I live in Iowa, not much I hate about this state other than it being below zero right now. In the summer time I guess I like this state, when the corn and beans are harvested them it becomes a truck playgroundand a truck graveyard after it rains hard. I would much prefer to be liveing in Ireland right now. Its much nicer there.

Ohio.

One word to sum it up: cornfields. The summers aren't too hot, and usually the winters are bearable(though tonights proving otherwise!). Trees and woods, I couldn't imagine not having those. I love that northwest Ohio has plenty. I also like that there are many dog shows in the states surrounding Ohio, as well as in Ohio. There are also many different venues. So, a large variety.

in the winter it is great no traffic to deal with but the summers stink the tourist traffic is awful but the winters are not to cold and the summers are not to hot (well most winters are not to cold but this year is proving to be a little colder)LOL

I live in Oregon and it's the only state I have ever called home.

I like the fact that everything is plush and green. It's such a diverse state. We have mountains, plains, lakes, ocean beaches, desert etc. For me, it's an hour one direction if I want to go to Mt. Hood for snow or about an hour and half the other direction if I want to spend a day at the coast enjoying the ocean. There are parks and hiking trails everywhere. I also like the fact that it's a very dog friendly area that I am in. I swear we have a doggy daycare or pet supply shop every mile.

I don't care much for all the rain in the winter, spring and fall and I wish we got more snow instead of the 1 day a year tease.

I can't complain much. I really do love it here...:)

Here is a picture I took of the sunset at the coast a while back:

I live in Massachusetts.

I love the atmosphere, the people, the ease in which I can go into the city, to the beach, or to the mountains. Culture is all around you. It's just a fantastic area to grow up in.

I hate that it is so **** expensive. A friend of mine has a studio apartment in Boston which is half the size of my bedroom and she pays $1200 a month. Being in the 'burbs I can get a 1 bedroom for $800+ if I'm lucky . . . though that's usually not the case. It's just way too expensive to live here.

I'm trying to move to Southern Maine . . .

I'm in Wisconsin!

I love the change of seasons so this state provides pleanty of that here. I could do away with the below zero temps right now but all in a years work for mother nature. The spring thaw always provides interesting suprises but my favorite has to be fall. I just doesn't last nearly long enough to enjoy those beautiful colors!

What I hate... the big cities. Love the country, however if you live near a big city it's nearly impossible for an ordinary joe to be able to afford a house with an acre + of land. All the cheap land is up north where there isn't a plethera of good jobs.

I would like to visit someday: Montana, Colorado, Tennessee, & Virginia.

I live in Tennessee . . . was born in Lafayette, Indiana, lived on the Ohio side of the Ohio River about 40 miles downriver from Cincinnati until I started school, then grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, just east of the Berkeley Hills, went to high school on the coast of North Carolina in Wilmington, and ended up here.

One thing I have learned is that it doesn't really matter where I live - I can be happy anywhere. Happiness depends on what is inside you :)

I cant afford to move out. Well, if I rented that unheated attached garage with no bathroom, I could have had that for $400/mo. The weather has been brutal, summers hit 100 regularly, and in the winter we are always on the Freezing rain line. If its dry, its cold, but as soon as some moisture arrives, its 35F and it rains. I'm just out of the major population centers, so its pretty quiet, but there are 6 stripmalls and uncountable business campuses in my town.

Plus, I'm a bit too libertarian for my state, but too liberal for my county! :p

Im in Michigan, been here my whole life so far. I really like the diversity of scenery, a lot of city life in the southern parts, but you go up north and to the UP and it is absolutely beautiful forestry. The weather is unpredictable, as it has seen so far this winter, where we had spring/fall weather all the way up until the end of January. Now it is very cold in the low single digits, with a windchill of well below zero. I am also too conservative for my state..lol.

Warrington UK my whole life! I love the part where I live because there are little woodlands and parkland. Tons of nice walks for me and Minnie along the canal etc and a bus service into town every 10 mins if you want anything. Warrington as a whole is too big and well populated though really. It doesn't have city status because we don't have a cathedral but it is much bigger than a town should be LOL. The weather...well Im British, of cause I complain about the weather, but hey it could be far worse. Perhaps the worst thing about living Warrington though is that it is sooo flat! There are no mountains or high spots to get those lovely 'see for miles' views.
