Does anyone own a Boxer or Boxers? How old are they? Where did you get them and how old were they when you got them? What are your Boxers like to own? Are they hyper or laid back? I have two white Boxers, Alaska & Georgia. Alaska is 8 years old and rather lazy inside but always demanding attention, when it comes to outside though, he is a hyper "puppy". We got him when he was 12 weeks old from a breeder. Lots of other people wanted him but we were the first to ask so we got him, luckily! He is also the stinkiest dog ever, always farting! Georgia is about 5 years old now and she is always putting a ball in your lap demanding to play with you. I have done 4-H and competed in agility with her. She is my baby. We used to own a tawny Boxer named Claire but she got overly aggresive so we handed her over to a Boxer specialist and now she is doing excellent, being approx. 6 years old now. I think they are excellent dogs to own!
For those of you who are thinking about getting a Boxer, I have one thing to say. Be prepared for 12 years of pure puppy!

I have six year old Skye. She's a cuddle monster. Ball mad. She'll do the constant dropping of a ball in my lap or sometimes she'll have it in her mouth and head butt me because she wants to play Chase!

She's brilliant with the kids (5 yrs and 3 yrs) and the cats (2yrs and 6mnths). She's got a few dog friends both male and female. She can be a bit sharp with new females but loves puppies of all shapes and sizes.

She loves company but can be a pest. Not everyone wants a big boxer head laying in their lap for the entire evening and her wiggle butt is dangerous, so we usually tie her to the gate if we are eating on the patio until she calms down.

She's my beauty and I just love her to bits. :)

Thanks Neopolitanpitbull :)

I think so too ... but I did forget to mention that she has a habit of sicking up near my feet (once a week or so), she f+++ts like a steamroller and she snores. If she was a fella, I might as well have married her, really.

The Boxer breed is a very gentle breed when raised properly. They exhibit a very high spirited, playful, curious, athletic, and energetic disposition.

The boxer is very clownish and will get into just about anything. Although they show signs of puppyhood when grown, they are very intelligent and can be trained very quickly. This breed is eager to learn and eager to please.

For more information on the boxer.....take a look at our site.

I don't own a Boxer, but have had 6 in my training classes over the past couple years. I actually didn't know there were so many in my town:lol-sign: All but one have been the reddish-fawn color, the other a brindle. They have been among my best students, very smart and a delight to have in class. Especially when there's a couple in a class together at play time. It's taken me a while to get used to the natural ears the Boxers in my classes have had, but I now prefer them to cropped....

I had a Boxer many years ago. She went to the Bridge at almost 12 years old in 1987. She was a wonderful dog, and her collar still hangs on my wall.

TWILIGHT, I just had to say how heartwarming and good of you to take that old girl and give her a loving home for the last part of her life.

That gave me a big smile, and I just love the licky licky dog in your sig.

I have a boxer as well! I got him at 8 weeks old and he is now 1 and a half. He is extremely active and fairly hyper. He loves to run and at night he has to lay on top of me in order to go to sleep :) He is very protective and pretty wary around strangers until he gets to know them. Then, he'll lick you to death! I love my baby!!
