Many times the only difference in adba show dogs and ukc show dogs is the condition of the dog. The adba likes the leaner look, the ukc likes the heavier look. The only difference is a few pounds. There are many dogs that have championed out in both ukc and adba. The only difference is when they showed adba they lost a few pounds.
and that's pretty clearly illustrated here. god i love that dog.

although i do think, in general, the ukc tends toward blockier, more amstaffy dogs, which is not my preference.

OMG those are some NICE lookin' dogs!! Now THAT is a good kennel... instead of one of those kennels that are choking their "hippos" (still think they are kinda cute tho!)! ;)

That's pretty neat. I have to say, though, I like the look in UKC shape better than ADBA. Of course, I'm always around Am Staffs. :)

I agree those are pretty dogs, but IMO, they are not the APBT that I like. They are AmStaffs dual registered as APBTs in the UKC. And that makes them Staffs.

I prefer the ADBA standard as it has stuck closest to the original working dog.
Same here :)

i find the conditioning of dogs in adba shape to be extremely impressive, but ukc is much more realistic for a pet dog. but the matrix dogs, no matter what condition they're in, look like *pit bulls*. they're not overly blocky. someday i hope to have a dog like that.

I agree Matrix dogs look healthy but i cannot stand cropped ears. They were not that way in the wild why do it to them now??

AllMolosser, some pit bulls have naturally ears that go up. I had a pittie mix who had ears that naturally went up, his name was Budmond aka Budman aka Buddy.

And I know other pitties that have had ears that naturally went up, a lot, actually.
I cannot stand having their ears cropped un-naturally though! I would never put my dog through that kind of pain and cannot believe anyone who would..

I'm not much for Pitbulls (not because I think they're mean, they just aren't for me and smooth coated dogs never catch my attention - I like them, just not in my house) but the dog in that link is absolutely gorgeous, wow!!

lol I think what he meant to say is that its unnatural...that they weren't born that way lol

I also don't like cropped ears..but I absolutely love Matrix dogs. If I wasn't so obsessed with rescuing, I would probably apply for one in the future.

By the way...what do you guys think of my girl? Everyone's showin off their pitties...look at my signature? Is she PURDY? ;) lol

It looks like your baby is mixed with a heeler or aussie, something along those lines. I have not ever seen a pit that has ears that stand unless they've been cropped, or mixed with a breed that has standing ears.
