I just got the terrible news that my puppy's siblings Tattoo and CC have both died- at different homes, haven't seen each other since they were weaned- of the same thing. The really bad part is the person who told me doesn't know what it is called. Gus (my pup) is 3/4 Corgi and 1/4 Border Collie. The illness was something to do with their stomachs- I don't know about vaccination records or anything besides this information. They were about 16 weeks old when this happened. My thoughts were Parvo and Giardia- but I am terrified it might be something serious and hereditary. Does anyone have any ideas of what else it could be?
I have worked with vets before and consider myself fairly knowledgeable about canine medicine, but I don't know of anything in either the Corgi or Border Collie that would be likely to affect two full siblings- I am trying to get more info and will be to the vet ASAP for blood work and any other tests she thinks might help- but the owners of the two puppies that died are very hard to get ahold of to find out exactly what it was called or if it was genetic, contagious, a result of late/not done vaccinations....
