Craigslist has got to be the worst place to get a pet...grrr!

Someone is advertising a spayed male JRT.

These people get pets, know nothing about them, and then advertise them on the internet in order to dump them! ugh.

vent over, sorry.

Craigslist always makes me mad... as well as hoobly.com, where people trade pets for generators and chicken wire.
ugh... why did you tell me about that?!

now I am going to have to check it out.

I just wish all pets could be treated as well as the ones I see on here.

This is one reason why I love coming on here... I hardly ever meet anyone in real life who I could consider a "good pet owner." I just don't understand how people can treat their pets so poorly, and not value their lives.
Yeah, hoobly.com is awful... there are a ton of ads, and all of them are from BYBs/people trying to get rid of their pets/trade their pets.

I emailed a woman who was trading a beagle puppy a while back for a generator or chicken wire. She sent me a nasty email back about it.

That's terrible! It's like their kids trading their "Pokemon" or something. That's the thing I don't like about Toy breeds...sometimes I think people treat them more like "toys" then living creatures.

On the bright side, if people can't take care of their pets, maybe advertising on Craig's list will result in someone who can take care of them, probably better than taking them to a shelter.

It's neither Craigslist nor Hoogly that are the problem, though the examples given are tragic. It's the internet. It is one thing for a breeder or shelter to say, hey look at the wonderful dogs we've got here, come and meet us.... and quite another to say make your cheque out to XXX and we'll pop the pup in the mail.

I wouldn't blame toy breeds for these things, there are interesting ads for all of them. Honestly, these people annoy me a lot.

But you will have to get rabies! Sorry, the wording cracked me up

Don't worry, we're not scammers! I swear! If you have to put that...

Haven't CERF tested yet, but she's a proven breeder!

And the list goes on and on....

And there are so many pom/paps on there too.
